Couturier > Murphy > Beaulieu > Hamilton

in my obviously bias opinion (as always when it comes to the dogs)

I'll still never forget working the lines during one of his AAA games and him rushing the puck and turning it over at the offensive blue line. I was working his end of the ice and could hear his coach absolutely tearing him apart for not getting it deep. "THE PLAN IS TO GET IT DEEP. THAT'S THE PLAN. WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING?" He really didn't learn that until this year and it's paying off in a big way, but I hope he doesn't regress because he was ****ing terrible defensively.

Don't know much about him, but I noticed that he's rising on many lists and now you mentioned him. Anyway, thanks for the info.

Let him rise. I hope lou looks past him and a team i n front of us reaches for him, well its not a reach at this point I guess. Give me couturier or hamilton and even murphy. Not a big strome fan and id like huber but he's gone by 8

Me too, but it's still fun to speculate about who we think the right guy is.

I'm not particularly sold on him, but hopefully a GM of another team will like him and take him, so that other talented players drop to us.

How about Mika Zibanejad? It would perhaps be a reach though. He is not Nhl-ready, he just made SEL the later half of the season. Big, pretty fast, physical center with good qualities both ways. Kind of a power forward, could be used as a winger too. He had a slightly better ppg than Josefsson had in his draft-season, but some of those games Zibanejad wasn't dressed so in reality it's better by a wider margin. He plays for Josefsons old team Djurgården.

Devils probably need a d-man more right? To take Zibanejad would be to take a chance, but he defenitely got star potential. You could see how he does in the wjc u-18, if he light it up there it might be a indication that this could be good pick. He is ranked second among europeans in CSS final rankings.

I like zibby and mcneil past the top 8. If we wanted a forward and the top tiers are gone, zibby would work. He would need one hell of an under 18s tourney tho.

We know about him for a while,. but thanks for info anyway. If we`re going to trade down, he`s our man, that`s for sure.

Zibanejad is definitely my pick if we trade down.

I don't think we'll draft a defenceman or a winger. None of them will be the BPA at our slot.

What would be our exact chances of winning the draft lottery? Pretty slim, I think, but IIRC that could move our pick as high as 4th, or down to 9th. Does anybody have some more solid info on that?

The kid is playing well in a men's league, so he's a player I wouldn't mind having.

3.6 %

and a 7.4% of being dropped to 9th

Thanks guys, that's actually a little better than I figured. After getting screwed in the Kovy situation, and then putting up the kind of run we did under Lemaire, it would almost be poetic justice for us to win the lottery, then have Larsson fall to 4th. (I have no actually illusions about this happening, unfortunately, but it would be fun.)

...but the 7.4% chance of dropping would almost be more appropriate for our luck.

There's a 90% chance we stay at 8th, so it's best to plan and speculate based on that assumption.

Not really sure, but I think I entered the Bluejackets team page for the first time since being a member of HF. Anyway, they're sure happy we passed them and seem to favor Strome, Couturier or Murphy.

I'd have no problem drafting Z, if the guys I like are off the board. I'd ask around and see if I could trade down a spot or two first, though, maybe pick up another third rounder so we can make another stellar pick.

I don't either. I don't know much about him to be fair tho.

I think strome and murphy might sneak around to 7 leaving one for us. Poor dougie is going to get snared before we reach the podium

Couturier shouldn't fall to us. If he does, it's probably because he's not NHL ready. The kid is a stud though. If he slips to 8 because he's one year away, then there's something wrong and Lou would be a fool to pass him up.

Agreed. If Couturier is there, take him. If not, Murphy isn't a bad pick at 8.

I still don't think that's close. IMO, there's a big 4. Larsson, Landeskog, RNH, and Couturier in no order. Those guys should get first looks.
