3/23 Huskins update

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/sharks/...n-in-the-past/

Huskins has been skating for weeks after getting upper body injury, but still has no time table for return.

Injured more than a month ago. 14 games missed, and counting.

I dunno why they call it an upper body injury.

There is no clear place where he has been injured. We took him out of the lineup and I believe TMac cited that he taking time off to heal "bumps and bruises".

Wasn't the injury around the time White was acquired? *wink wink*

If Huskins was put on LTIR just to make room for White, then how do we get him back in the lineup?

Waive Wallin?

*fingers crossed*

Who am I kidding. DW will probably do something stupid like send Demers and Braun down.

DW probably made a deal with Huskins. Hey Kent, if you agree to fake an injury and go on LTIR, then I'll re-sign you next season for 2 years @ 2.5M per year.

I think that requires proof of injury, so that lowers the odds that he's "faking" for a roster spot.

What's up with Huskins?

I never even saw how he got hurt or anything. Can someone fill me in on what his injury is and if there is any timetable on his return.

I know we'd be way better with him as opposed to Wallin but it took him so long to return to form last time he was hurt, so... maybe not. He is a good playoff guy.

Upper-body injury. From what I've heard, he's skating, but I'm not sure if he's practicing.

If it is indeed a concussion, or other chronic issue, I doubt the Sharks re-sign him.

Doherty, Braun, or even Petrecki may be the guy to replace him in the line up. (They'll probably be cheaper/more effective in the long run.)

I don't know if we can say that it is a concussion. Suddenly he has a concussion once we got Ian White? I'm not saying its fishy, it could be possible that he has been dealing with a back problem. Perhaps someone fell on him?

The last game he played was against COL where he played for ~17 mins and he was on the PK for 1:30

I dunno if thats where it happened.

Didn't Hedican let it slip way, WAY back that it was a concussion?

"Husky is involved in full contact in practice right now,” McLellan said. “If we needed him, we’re probably looking at the middle of the series. Then he’ll become an option.”

Another iteration that Huskins might be available around game 3/4/5 first round.

Rolling 8 defensemen, 12 forwards, and no goalies.
