According to IS Veikkaaja, Jarkko Ruutu may sign with HIFK.

Yeah, many people have known this while ago, although it's still just a rumor.

If Ruutu would sign with HIFK, what would be his role? Agitator like in NHL or a top line player?

I would say both, though IFK's top six is quite full Jarkko still has talent enough to be sort of scoring threat in SM-Liiga level... though he will probably play in 3rd line with Wirtanen and be the team's top penalty killer. And I wouldn't be surprised if he plays in the 2nd line...

OK, that's kinda what I thought too. HIFK will again be tough to beat next season, despite the loss of Petrell...

Would be a "holy crap!"-signing for Ässät. 25 years old and has solid numbers in the AHL and many games in the NHL. Had some kind of knee injury in April and is likely the only reason Ässät is even in the rumors to be the team for this guy. Talk is that on Monday we will know more about the situation.

Jared Ross is training with JYP for two weeks. JYP's homepage says that he wants to get familiar europe ring size... who knows if he'll skate in sm-liiga 2011-2012

The latest I heard of J. Ruutu was that he was rumored to sign with Jokerit. Can't remember who tweeted it.

Didn't Kekäläinen deny that rumor? He only said that J.Ruutu would be on upgrade to any team in FEL.

It'd be nice to have him here in HIFK, but my life wouldn't be over if he chose Vantaa. I highly doubt he goes to Jokerit tho.

Why would he choose Kiekko-Vantaa?

Now there's a solid rumour that Ruutu has signed 2+2 year contract + a job at the Jokerit office after retirement (something HIFK wasnt ready to offer?). Anyway, all the signs are indicating to Jokerit.

Nah, i meant Vantaan Jokerit but anyways.

He can be sure he'll be hated for the rest of his life here in Stadi if he signs with the clowns. Imagine if Selänne signed with I.F.K, you'd be pretty pissed. That's how i fell right now.

I hope we use the money we save from not signing him wisely. Someone similar to him, but with better offensive upside.
