If he's able to play regular minutes with Skellefteå (they lead the Elitserien right?) I'll be very suprised because he was way too hazardous to play in the Sm-liiga with Jokerit. Every time he was in the lineup he made 2-3 bad mistakes that lead to scoring chances. Very good in the offensive zone and a good skater but lacked strenght and playd too risky in his own zone.
Great move for John, way better to develop in Sweden. Skellefteå with 4(!) juniors on D? Edström, Granberg, Alm, Klingberg.
He wanted to play in more physical league with a more aggressive forechecking and smaller rinks (in some arenas). He failed in that so he went to back to a league where there's less of both. Not sure if I'd call that exactly a better development environment. Although he might get to play with SAIK, since they can dress 20 players for games where as in Finland you can only dress 18 (they better change that for next season, not seeing any benefits so far ).
I'm satisfied. I'm sure he'll be an interesting acquisition, that's for sure. There are a lot of people complaining about the fact that we decided to contract a talented young d-man instead of just bringing up one from the J20-team, and I understand that, but at the same time you have to also be able to contract other talented youngsters, even if they aren't from the area. Besides, I doubt the juniors are all that worried, the fact that we have 6 d-men playing right now that's between 20 and 19 should be proof that they'll get a chance as well if they are good enough. John will be fine with us, I'm sure of that, and if he doesn't... Well, just let Thomson sink his hooks into the kid and he'll be back next year a whole new player.
Timrå needs a puck-moving defenseman, no? Mihalik is not that.
Timrå could use alot of things, but mat robinsson is just what you said, a puck-moving defenseman.
Timrå really needs someone who is awesome in powerplay/boxplay becuse that is Timrås biggest weakness. 10,71% in powerplay and 70% in boxplay is not okay.
Box/powerplay has costed Timrå alot of points. If they can fix that they will be so much better and will have a better chance in kvalserien.
Well would like to have him in another SEL team so we could take advantage of his mistakes
He is the master of giving the other team the puck in dangerous areas, taking stupid penalties in the end of the game, putting his teammates in hard situations etc

Really? His stats look solid and in FEL he has always been a key player. Whats the matter?
If this is true, its good news. Ahlqvist was good when he was here the last time. A great first goalie is just what timrå needs. Lundström/Riderwall is not a safe first choice.
Broc Little will play in SEL next season. Im pretty sure Anaheim prospects William Karlsson will make the jump too. More and more SEL teams are mining talent in Allsvenskan.
