Gilroy in over Eminger? God help us if Boudreau uses home ice to set Ovechkin on Gilroy every time. Maybe Torts thinks his superior speed will actually be a better defensive asset?

Unfortunately I'll be missing most all of this game due to class, but I'll be following along on my laptop.

WAR RANGERS.

I'm really bothered by Zucc being in over Avery. I just feel as if Zucc won't be a factor whatsoever. Not that i think avery would be, but he can play a significant role in the playoffs, especially with the more physical style. Zucc just isn't strong enough to up his level of play to the physicality that is necessary. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

To me, in the first game at least, Zuccarello is a better option offensively. With Drury back that fourth line will have a little more finish to it and with much better defensive reliability. Let Zuccarello really try to establish some offensive game and we'll see how the game goes.

I agree. I would be playing Avery in the playoffs, at least for this first game to see how he reacts to being recently scratched. Zuccarello isn't ready for this yet.

My night will be made if he does the bow and arrow, even if we lose.

To be fair, it doesn't matter much whether it's McCabe-Gilroy or McCabe-Eminger, that pairing would be horribly overmatched by Ovechkin anyway.

This team is ready i can feel it.

Would love to have Cally but theres enough in the lineup to compete and beat the Caps I truly believe that.

Its not going to be easy, by any means - but this team has shown balls all year. Now its time to do it when it counts. Its a long series. Theyll be ups, theyll be downs. Thing that matters most is whos left standing at the end.

Sharp passing, speed. Attention to detail. Block shots, sacrifice. Do whatever it takes. Come with a nasty edge. Protect Hank. Bury the big time chances. Settle into a dynamic PP and dont try to do too much. Control the neutral zone. Shoot from everywhere and hit the net. Drive there and get into the crease. Win all puck battles. Make the game yours and dictate the play on the forecheck. Good luck guys. Make it happen.

Some poster mentioned this a few weeks back, but he said that something feels special, different, about this year.

At first I didn't believe it, but once I saw events like the BOS game, and how we got into the playoffs, I truly believe there is something different about this year.

I have never seen a Rangers team so close together, and they have a never say die mentality.

The East being arguably wide open more so than any other year I think we may be able to do something special. Win it all? Probably not, but I think if we play like we did against BOS and NJ then we can possibly do a little bit of damage in the playoffs, imo.

Good, it's better to be the underdogs anyways.

Think of how much pressure everyone, including the Caps themselves, are putting on them. They have to come out great, and do damage in the playoffs.

I think just based on the shear amount of pressure on them they could possibly play like the Canes did in the last game of the year.

Had to put the old Nhl 11 game into my ps3 and sim the game...

Rangers won 2-0....

BOTH goals by Gaborik after sweet passes by Stepan...

Lundqvist saved 34 shots...

Oddly Ovechkin got only 1 shot of in the game....

Hi guys,

I have never watched a game through my computer before, but i am away for work this week and it looks like my only option. for the most part, I am not able to download new programs to my computer, the admin roles are locked. what is the best way/link for me to watch the game. I dont mind paying a fee if required.

Many thanks!

really won't know until we see what he can bring. He pulled a goal and an assist against Slovakia in the Olympics; a team that boasts Chara, Meszaros, Hossa, Gaborik, and Halak; on a team with very little offensive talent to support him.

If we had Avery circa 2007 vs Kovalchuk/Atlanta or circa 2008 vs Brodeur/New Jersey, yeah, I would want him in over Zuccs but the 2010 2011 Avery plays like a sad castrated puppy whose reputation alone could get us a bad call against here and there and I've said before, even with our 14 for 15 PK record against the Caps in the regular season, their power play is a fire that is not to be played with.
