At least a hell of a lot more seasoned. Redden-Rozsival were fantastic in that series, although Mara-Morris did struggle a bit.

Biggest difference I see;

Washington 08-09; 268 gf, 240 ga, +28
Washington 10-11; 219 gf, 191 ga, +28

Rangers; 08-09; 200gf, 212 gd, -12
Rangers 10-11; 224 gf, 195 ga, +29
And when you look at this year's numbers for the two teams, it's actually amazing that we're comparing a 1 seed and an 8 seed.

I feel really confident about this match up. Literally no one is picking the rangers so I say it's time to get upset!

What time zone are you in Loffen? CEST?

I'll be getting antsy @ 5PM EST. I'd be going nuts if I just got off work and had 9 1/2 hours to kill.

sniff ..... sniff ........ Ahhhh ... the smell of playoff hockey brewing is in the air. A complex aroma of anticipation, expectation and celebration that drives the hockey fan wild.

Yup. But this series is nearly perfectly scheduled. I could potentially watch all the games, since I have no University on a Thursday, and after Eastern there's a break. I just hope that the schedules for the future rounds will be equally fortunate

Time is dragging so much today. I don't even mind this game being later than the usual midnight start, I just want it to start already!

I will just be wasting time away waiting for puck drop tonight. I don't feel like doing anything today except watching the Rangers win

If I could somehow work that into economic disparity producing voting inequality, I would, but I think that may be a stretch.

Staal and Girardi were horrendous in that series and got second pairing minutes, I don't even think they faced Ovechkin. They are much better now. Redden and Rozsival were definitely our best pairing but they tired out towards the end of the series. And I hope that McCabe-Eminger are better than Mara and Morris... I'll never forget that embarrassing goal against Ovechkin when they let him walk in on Henrik. Here's hoping that this year's less experienced defense plays much better than the defense did in '09.
