Ryan Craig has been signed to a 1 year AHL deal by the Falcons/CBJ. Ryan played with the Falcons in 04/05 and 05/06 and is a former Falcons captain. He gives more veteran leadership to a team that already has a lot of leadership in Amadio, Bass and Joudrey. He will chip in some offense, but is not a pure scorer by any means.

So, basically, our Springfield answer to Aucoin? Sounds good to me.

Is he going to play in Springfield again next year? There have been rumors that he signed in italy but I can't find anything that says so.

Don't think he will be with Springfield. Think they will roll with McElhinney and York.

I will not be surprised if Dainton beats York out for the spot here in Springfield.

As for Legace, as others pointed out, he's rumored to be going to Asiago. I did not see him being brought back after the trainwreck to end the season.

I guess I don't care about veteran leadership, who the goalie is, the assistant coaches or anything other than seeing Springfield advance deep into the playoffs led primarily by guys who will hopefully soon be members of the Blue Jackets NHL roster. All this other stuff is just malarkey.

A good foundation in your AHL club helps out with developing prospects into good NHL players. Everyone is entitled to care or not care about the team helping mold your future players. To each their own.

Come on K, you're smarter than that. We've b*tched and b*tched about developing propects. You've got to have a framework and support system in place for that to happen.

True. Especially the smarter part- I'd still like/hope that it is reflected in deep runs in the playoffs.

...I remember Dale Mahovsky. Good character guy, had some skill when he played for Kootenay. Good signing for the Icemen, should be a nice piece to have if we have to send any of our players down there.

stupid question.

Is there a place to look up who owns rights to who? For instance, we 'traded' Delisle so he must have been CBJ property...there are many guys beyond things like capgeek and so forth that the CBJ may have rights to or whatever and I'm just curious if there's a list somewhere.

Mainly interested in this because I'm curious who Evansville will get out of the org. It was mentioned by one of their fans that they're getting 4-5 guys out of the system. I would presume they are guys that were in Chicago, but some of those guys have moved on.

Is this it? or could there be more folks? I know contracts are limited to 50, but have no idea what happens if you have rights to someone but no contract...

I usually look at forecaster.ca and I think the CBJ list is here. http://www.forecaster.ca/hockeyplus/...amhome.cgi?CBJ

This has the listing of CBJ rights in the depth chart section. It's usually updated very quickly after moves and shows both signed and unsigned players. Not sure if that's what you were looking for but you could probably identify who might be likely to play for Evansville

getting in late on this but I live quite close to Evansville and went to an Icemen game in their first season when they were just independent... are they now an ECHL team? If so I will have to go see them again(they were painful to watch that first year)

This seems really odd that they'd sign another goalie, unless they know about another move by the Jackets (i.e. Mason on his way out).

Currently, the Falcons have goalies Mike Clemente and Paul Dainton on AHL only contracts. The Jackets have Bobrovsky, Mason, McElhinney (2 way contract) and Allen York (ELC).

Without any changes its:

Columbus: Bobrovsky/Mason
Springfield: McElhinney/York
Evansville: Dainton/Clemente

It's nice of Springfield to be signing all these goalies for Evansville. But considering how York was treated last season, he'll be in Evansville and Dainton in Springy.
