Basically what I've been thinking. Hawks can definitely win without 36/22 and the impact would be that much greater. If the series is split at 1-1 or 2-2 when Bolland arrives to blow a kiss at the Gingertwins the probability of the Hawks seeing Rd. 2 goes through the roof.

Can't wait.

Let's Go Hawks! Let's Go Hawks!

Rogers Arena is OUR HOUSE! Our vacation house, lol. Let's play like it and get a win! I think they can do it if every guy is flying out there like those last minutes vs. Detroit.

Sorry to burst anyoneís bubble but letís get real here. Unfortunately, even if Bolland somehow is able to make it back at some point in this series he will be at least a step behind and is unlikely to be effective at either end of the ice. If we canít win this series without him, we will not win. Simple as that. Brouwer, on the other hand, would be a welcome addition against Vancouver.

Unless Brouwer's having one of his magical, logic-defying goal scoring runs on the top line I'd rather have Bolland on the ice at 80%.

Wish I was at that game. This is (hopefully) gonna be amazing. Hope we kill all the penalties and win this game. Most important for me is our defense.
I want Norris trophy winner Keith, and Seabrook to play well and eliminate the Sedins.

GO HAWKS!

I go in with 0 confidence that our bottom two lines have even the possibility of scoring. Bolland's absence really hurts there in making the third line at least threatening. Brouwer too has his spurts where he goes on a good goal scoring streak. We are going to have to rely heavily on Kane, Toews, Sharp, and Hossa to create offense and get some goals.

I feel the same way I did in round 1 of the 08/09 playoffs. I was just glad we finally got in and didn't even mind a first round exit...until we won Game 1.

If the Hawks can get their **** together and pull out a win in Game 1 at Vancouver then that's just a bonus for me. I'm just relieved we avoided the embarrassment of missing the playoffs.

Honestly, what in the past 2-3 weeks suggests Toews or Hossa cna carry anything? The only people capable of carrying the hawks until somebody else steps up are Kane and Crawford.

We are better on the road than at home. Canucks were 27-10-4 on the road. As clear underdogs, we just have to try and get in the series wherever we're playing.

TBH … nothing much, however this is the playoffs. Jonny and Hoss will be solid and hopefully not just defensively. What could be as important (if not more) is the play of our 6 dmen led by 7 and 2. If they let Canuck players stand around in the slot, we are cooked.

I think we will see a different Brouwer this series. He knows he is in a slump, he is from vancouver, and he knows he has to prove himself this time.

Wishful thinking, but I'd love to see him lay out one of the Sedins tonight to set the tone for the series.

Agreed.

Also want to see Pisani in beast mode.

Yeah I'd rather see Pisani in there over Dowell tbh (although that leaves us without any 3rd line centre unless Sharp/Kopecky move back there).

I tend to agree. Men emerge in the playoffs and Pisani has done it before. Q will be well aware of that fact.
