Let's just get his started. It's been a long pre-season, now the games begin.

My thoughts exactly. I expect there to be a much more charged up atmosphere at VC tonight.

from the NYR board: Apparantly Pierre McGuire on NY sports radio reports the Caps are going after Stepan tonight. Rangers fans don't understand this because it was a clean hit. I won't comment further.

He is. I read it as well.

I mean...its one thing to support your team and I get that. But come on. That was an obvious dirty elbow...that just wasn't called.

That's fine. Whatever.

It's just too easy to predict a revenge type situation in the modern day NHL. Even when revenge isnt warranted (stecked vs s1d). Back in the day, the big grunge match you were expecting didn't materialize. Now, its so obvious.

Go after Stepan when the score is settled, sure why not. Since we are all homers, I think we are all on board with Green being allowed to board people but not get elbowed in the head.

Wouldnt mind if Brads or Hendricks came out and set the tone early.

Glad to see Lloyd!

Tone setting is the perview of 8. Brads and Hendricks can hit, but they don't set any tone like a hit by 8.

Grab your sack.

I will say this, Stephan better have his head on a swivel, because #8 might send him into the stands if he has the chance.

He has time and time again laid the wood to someone at the start of a series. Here won't be any different.

If Ov puts Stepan in the Malkin zone, look out. It only takes one hit and there's never a penalty either.

Ovi looks after Nick, first and foremost, much less so over Green. If someone challenges Stepan, it will not be Ovi. If Ovi goes hunting for Stepan early in the game, i think he will have his priorities out of whack. he needs to go after Lundy and their defensemen.

Best way to get revenge is a big fat WIN tonight. I'm sure that's what BB and the vets are telling the boys.

I dont think you remember Ov chasing Koci to the penalty box after he boarded Green in Colorado. Ov has plenty of room on his hit card to lay out Stepan. Assuming Stepan is even on the ice against 8. Opportunities to hit Girardi and Staal will be there all the time.

Ov is not going to run Lundqvist. He doesnt run goalies. Thats for Laich and Hendricks.

followed by beer.

I mean, he was fined for this hit, wasn't he? So obviously it was not deemed a "clean' hit.

But I seriously doubt the Caps are going to go after a rookie 3rd line forward unless and until the game is salted away.

That is exactly what I expect. Add the detail that the Rags score 1st in the 2nd, followed by 7 angery trashcat posts demanding mass firings and trades, before the Caps tie it up.

Ready to Rock N Roll. Let's go!

Might try and make it to my first playoff game tonight! Just moved up here from Louisiana. Would the ticket prices decrease a good bit once the puck drops? Thanks!
