The Sabres have been a markedly better team than the Flyers for the last 6 weeks. Sabres have the obvious edge in net, and have been better offensively and defensively.
I'm rooting for the lower seeds in every matchup except ours. The Sabres in the first round are scary, in the 2nd round? Not as much for whatever reason.

After watching the Nucks/Hawks game on and off last night...that Vancouver team is going to be a handful the rest of the way as long as they stay healthy.
No kidding. Vancouver's going to be tough to stop. I'm thinking a Mack truck or something... dunno. Trying to shake a fatalistic attitude with regard to how important it is to emerge from the East. The Canucks look that good. While in many ways awesome, it would suck to have another anticlimax of a run, '98 style. Anyway, that's getting way too far ahead, etc.

I don't know. The Hawks didn't look too good last night yet still had their chances. If they get Bolland back that will make a big difference. Don't get me wrong, the Canucks looked good but it was just game 1.
Didn't really infer I was scared...just that they'll be a handful for just about anyone they face. A very very good team. Dream finals would be indeed Caps and Vancouver...I think they'd make for some great games as they match up pretty evenly.
If the Caps could be four wins from a Cup, I'm pretty sure every Washington fan would take that deal and run. The Canucks have been the class of the league all year in most categories, though, from the eyeball test to the stat sheet. I'm certainly rooting hard for whoever they play this playoff year. That team has juggernaut written all over it. That's no paper tiger, Potemkin Village... choose your favorite metaphor.

Dream finals is Caps and Detroit for me. With Montreal and Pittsburgh on the way. Retribution.
If the Caps and Canucks both made it that far, it'd be because of their respective destinies (Winter Classic "curse" and Canadian Olympic Host, uh... "boon?"). In which case the Caps have to lose.
What? It's just as good a rationalization as any...

I feel the same way. Particularly the last two periods Chicago controlled long stretches of play, and I think they hit a couple posts as well. I think the Canucks are much stronger this season but I don't see Chicago rolling over easily.
