The combination of Flyer alumni Jones/Roenick, after a Comcast Sportsnet simulcast of a loss by a Comcast-owned team kind of stretches the impartiality of this panel, on a supposedly national broadcast on Comcast's Versus. They look about ready to cry.

2 games tonight. 2 goals. if this is what the 2011 playoffs are all about mcphee and boudreau made a brilliant move to change the caps game in time. last season's caps might have been toast

I thought Boston dominated the Habs.

Also looked like the Flyers dominated the Sabres.

Both lost.

Hilarious.

Territorial advantages mean doodoo, especially if the attacking team isn't being particularly physical.

I thought Philadelphia continued their largely flat, non-physical play from down the stretch. Okay but not great. Uninspired, beatable.

Montreal and Buffalo making long series of those would be nice.

The Habs-Bruins game looked awfully familiar.

California hockey games are awesome. Just about without fail. Series? Forget about it. Bitter rivalries are great.

Hard to figure what exactly the expectation level is in Los Angeles without Kopitar.

Very low. Lombardi didn't get the top liner he was looking for all year, and then Kopitar goes down. They'll still play a nasty series against San Jose, though.

I think more than the coach could see themselves out of LA if they choke it out.

for all the doom and gloom surrounding LA, tie game.

Couture makes a rookie mistake.

Atonement.

Ian White could be a big loss for the Sharks, though. He did not look good after the hit.

You could tell the King player knew he caught him the wrong way, gave him the "sorry, brah" tap on the back as he skated away. A rare sign of respect in the post season.

tie game again.

Some nice resiliency from the Kings.

After that hit, Stoll is going to miss a few games with a suspension, I suspect.

Justin Williams is a very underrated hockey player.

Also, if Philly is ever dumb enough to dump Lavy, I want him. I don't care who is coaching here (unless it's Dale).

Wellwood comes through on a cross-ice pass to Pavelski for an OT goal; 1-0 series lead for San Jose.

Sharks beat LA in OT in the most exciting of the opening games -- and that says a lot because we had three great games tonight, and at least one (Caps/Rangers) last night.
