Off topic, but what the hell was up with Giroux slowing up on that 2 on 1 earlier? He completely ruined the chance there.

Followed by Miller and Myers.

If you score at even strength, you don't have to rely on the powerplay.

The powerplay does suck something awful right now, though.

I don't think so. The Flyers never really challenged him tonight.

He deserved a star for sure, though.

Everyone calm down, we dominated the play, the sabres had probably 4 minutes of zone time the entire game, they got a lucky break on a rebound and cashed in, then did their best impression of the 95 devils by trapping it up. We missed on alot of chances wide, and miller shut the door on the others, but if we play with the same effort throughout we win the series.

That's funny, I seem to remember you *****ing and whining when we were playing poorly but still scraped away wins and points. God, some of you guys are almost too much even for me. I can't remember who it was (and I sure as **** won't bother to look it up) that thought it was the end of the series if we couldn't score on a 5-3 in the first period of the first game. I mean, why do you even bother about following a team if that's your mindset. Just join the parade later on and save yourself off all that negativity.

We have now lost 9 of the first games in the last 11 series. Not too concerned.

Damned pissed, and alarmed at the PP, as usual.

We had about four 2 on 1's and I dont even think we registered a shot, if they defenseman takes the odd man SHOOT, if he lays on the ice SHOOT, if he attacks you PASS, I mean at least 1 of those chances has to be buried

They played well enough to win this game, but didn't. Other than more crashing the net and better shots on net, not much you can change in the effort.

I'd put in Z for Versteeg or Carcillo next game, though. If we're going to try to score by going through everyone, I'd prefer to have a guy that can do it.

It stings so badly that Erik Cole is sitting at home right now. JvR was the best player on the ice tonight and Jeff Carter and Hartnell were the worst. Gaustad and Montador were juggernauts. Giroux tried too hard and we need Pronger in the worst way. Did I miss anything?

That's what I'm saying. By slowing up he took away any good shot opportunity and gave away the fact that he was going to pass. Just keep up the speed and use your hockey sense to make a good decision!

Apparently, Philadelphia is classless for giving JvR the first star

Watch their passing in the last 2-3 minutes of that game and tell me they were calm...

Usually when this happens they end up shutting it down for the next 55 minutes.

Miller deserved it. This type of thing happens all the time though because random companies or people from the hometown pick the stars.

If they dont come out with a sense of urgency in game 2, then I think it will time to panic.
