I'm not a big fan of Carcillo being in the line-up over Zherdev.
Sure Kaleta is in for Buffalo, but we have more then enough grit and toughness to stop him from being a goon without Carcillo in the line-up, and we can use all the offensive threats we have when playing against one of the best goaltenders in the world in Miller.

But hey, I'm not the coach.
Who, Hartnell?? Will you take a Hartnell for Kaleta tradeoff, I am sure Buffalo will. Carcillo's one and only job is going to be to finish some checks and make them count. As much as this team possesses skill, they do lack a lot of guys who are willing to sacrifice the body. Hopefully these guys are going to turn up the compete level and raise their game tonight.

You dont need to go to the box to neutralize a pest, but I'm sure Carcillo will find himself there more then once tonight. I hope I'm wrong but I just dont see him bringing more to the table then what he will cost the team with his stupid antics. Again, hoping to be proven wrong by the man himself.
As for sacrificing the body etc, Powe, Richards, Coburn, Giroux, Briere, Mesz, O'Donnell, hartnell can all be effective body checkers, and do so on a regular basis.
In a series against a tougher team then Buffalo and a weaker goalie I would favour Carcillo, I just dont see the value in this series.
It's not a shocker that Zherdev is scratched. I'd rather see him play, but it's not as if he has played good enough that it's a sure thing that he should be in the lineup.
Anyhow, let's do this already... I'm getting nervous here. On the bright side though, I have worked like hell today so I can take tomorrow more or less off, meaning I'm planning to take one or two beers during the night, just because it's the first game of the playoffs and all. Can't drink too many though, then I will fall asleep.
I've said before that I think that Buffalo will take the lead in the series and that we will turn things around eventually, but stuff that - we'll win this game 4-3 with goals from Richards, Carter, Giroux and JvR.
