tortorella doesnt want avery doing those things. when avery plays, he doesnt do those things anymore. if he does, then he stops playing.
could it be that you want avery in the lineup because you want to see a beat down?
Maybe their GM wants Avery doing those things. Trust me, if he gets a sweater, he will try some of his old stunts. Prust is filling in well in his absence though. Or do you expect Torts to try to beat us straight up game after game, even if its failing? Its not time for them to abandon their plan, but losing Cally and if they keep losing, I expect some change of torts, dont you?
If the refs didnt hate avery, 2 years he would have drawn a bunch of penalties from Erskine boarding / CFB him repeatedly

True, but what other choices do the Rangers really have at this point?
It's not much of an option really. The Caps have dealt with him before. They can handle one idiot no problem. If he wants to be stupid and take penalties that's their funeral. Even if the Caps don't cash in, being on the PK often will wear them down and keep them off the offensive side.
Frankly they don't have a ton of options really other than Lunqvist being literally perfect for each game.
Keep in mind he's replacing a guy that took a dumb penalty and got more or less benched (at least for part of the game). No reason they can't limit Avery's minutes the same way if they need to.
Yeah pretty much but let's not get too cocky they've got a good defense and goalie that steals games...as long as the caps play their system they'll be fine the pp is just an added bonus. I'd like to see some scoring from the 3rd and 4th lines tonight. The games against the rangers are going to be hard but we should win them.
