And I thought he would've been a terrific candidate for the GM job with Montreal.
Not that he wouldn't be now, but somebody probably knew what happened, and disregarded Vinny's candidature (with motive : can you believe an NHL GM, in Montreal of all places, being under scrutiny for family violence?)
Damn, that really sucks. I hope he can seek some counselling for his anger. No reason, whatsoever, to lay your hands on your spouse. This man needs help.
i don't understand couples which after so many years of marriage end up in justice!

don't get me wrong I'm totally against beating women but we don't know what happened. I'd refrain from jumping into conclusions so fast. Most of the times in these kind of stories, the man is always pictured as the aggressor while in fact a lot of times he's the victim.

This. For all we know, she could have threaten him with a knife and all.

This article discusses the research on abuse against men in intimate relationships with a primary focus on the effects of this abuse. We begin by discussing the incidence of physical aggression against men, then address methodological and conceptual issues associated with the incidence data. We next review studies assessing the effects of aggression against men and discuss ways in which this research can be furthered and improved. Finally, we discuss why men would choose to stay in these relationships and consider the scant research on emotional abuse against men..
Haha, I'm holding up a finger at you now Jack, take a guess at which one it is. Hint; it's not the thumb, index, ring or pinky fingers.

While I get what you mean, to put your hands on a woman, even if you've been attacked first, is just something you don't do. Like you said, we don't know what happened yet, so hopefully this isn't all that went down.

While I agree that a man hitting a woman is a no-no in most situations, if the woman attacks you bad enough, I could see why a man would want to retaliate. It's only human nature to be reactive like that. Not suggesting anything either, just saying.
There really aren't enough facts here, and everything we post will be speculation. When more information comes out, we'll re-open this. Contact a mod with a link to any new article that sheds some light on this.
Re-opened thanks to Charlie Miles and his link from TSN.
That's only true because the law is almost always on the side of women.
From a moral perspective, if a woman attacks a man, it's perfectly acceptable for the man to defend himself. If it means hurting her, so be it.
Well not in my opinion, sorry but the physical force of a man has way more impact than a woman (in general) so it's unfair to retaliate and against all my principles. You can protect yourself and get away without attacking her (well it's another story if she has a weapon tho).

Bingo.
Sorry, my wife slaps my as hard as she can and it'll hurt. I'll slap her back as hard as I can, and she'll likely have a dislocated jaw. You just can't be even when doing crap like that.
Hmmmm. 6 assaults suddenly being recalled and reported from a 3 year period in an unravelling marriage.
Knowing no facts but this it looks like a signature preemptive move by someone who wants to have a court ordered removal of their spouse from the matrimonial home, and becoming set as the default "custodial parent" going forward in the dispute.
I always take these things with a grain of salt, let's not speculate & wait for facts. It's E-Z to jump on people with the internet & the fact that everyone else is just regular Joe's & wanting to find failure.
Nobody knows for sure, so don't blow it out of proportion, it's not right to jump to conclusions, until facts are revealed.
Gotta love that everybody jump the gun when a man beats his wife, yet, if his wife would have stabbed him, it's likely because he would have looked for it. We don't know **** about this story. Aren't they in a divorce right now? Odd timing... uh..
