The Capitals rallied with a late goal from Alex Ovechkin, then got the OT winner from Alexander Semin to prevent the Rangers from stealing Game 1. It was an evenly played game that could've gone either way, so expect both teams to play another hotly-contested Game 2
History suggests a 1-0 lead for the Canucks over the Blackhawks doesn't really matter. Vancouver won Game 1 in both of its previous playoff series against Chicago (2009, 2010) only to lose each time in six games. However, the Canucks appear to be the deeper team this time around and they clearly came out in Game 1 with a mission to be physical on the Hawks in order to let their depth come into play.
The Ducks entered the postseason on a hot streak that has some prognosticators picking Anaheim to emerge from the West. But after a 4-1 thumping in Game 1, Nashville suddenly has the edge. With Anaheim needing to resolve its goaltending issues, the stage is set for an enormous Game 2 Friday at Honda Center.
I liked our Dmen's transition last game compared to Tampas constant trap, its a nice chess game. If that keeps up every game is going to be tense.
As for the other series, as good as Anaheim is they really really depend on just the four players for all thier offensive production it seems. I think that plays into Nashvilles hands. If they just had Hiller though....
