Tampa is one of the worst 3rd period scoring teams in the league this year, I believe the worst in the playoffs.
We have to do exactly what was done last game, hit hard, and wear them down. They are going to come out of the gate like a shot from a cannon the same as they did in Game #1. Tampa scores almost all of its goals in the 1st period, has all season. If we can hold them scoreless through the first period, probably can take them and have a 2-0 lead in the series. In the 1st period we need to see more of the top 4 and not so much of the bottom pairing, use them at the end of the 2nd to allow the top pairings to save whats left in the tank for the 3rd period.
In the first period need to see a lot of both the Z - Martin pairing and the Orpik - Letang pair. I know Lovejoy - Niskanen got used at the end of the game #1. But all four of those guys played over 22 mins last game and we need them to do the same again tonight and shut these guys down.
If the Pens can pop a goal or two in the first 60 mins and keep Tampa scoreless at least in the 1st. We probably will win it.
As long as we keep the scores down in these games against this team, we should be in good shape. We find ways to win games that way. First period of this game may be the hardest for us, because we may see TB at their most desperate. They may really come hard early, so we need to be ready for them.
It'd be awesome to score on the PP tonight, to take a bit of heat off them.
We gotta tighten it up against vinny and marty if they're put out on the same line most of the night. Lotta chances that we can't expect fleury to save every night. Hopefully Reirden has adjusted to what tampa did last game.
Something about Asham's postgame comments and how Bylsma has interacted with him on the bench tells me he's going to have a beast of a series for us.
The KSK line needs some contribution. Sniper Pig goal.
You sir, have some good taste in rock-n-roll. It wasn't anyone else's AFAIK but Fair Warning was my absolute favorite album from the time I was 10 (when it was released), well into high school. Still like to listen to it occasionally. 30 years on it's still a kick-ass CD. Standing the test of time FTW. Most artists from the last 20 years haven't. Old school Van Halen is hard to beat.
