Yeh, I think these two teams are pretty even and if not for Fluery playing so well in the first game that game could have been just as ugly as this one. Tampa missed a bunch of chances to finish in the first game and Fluery robbed them of a bunch last game. This game they didn't miss their chances and Fluery didn't make any big saves. If Fluery doesn't play lights out every game Tampa will win the series because they are going to get many more quality chances then the Pens. Our only advantage is goaltending and if we don't get great goaltending we're not going to win.

DB should start complaining about the refs soon as he gets to the mic as they called two bogus calls that led to TB getting goals. Staal for boarding? COME ON

Sorry dude, that was a legit call. I'm not saying officiating wasn't poor both ways because it surely was but that's routinely called. Hopefully, crappy officiating won't determine the outcome of this series. Good luck.

I know this might be a bit off-topic, but does any one know the songs that appeared in the last period, specifically end of the game?
I didn't want to make a topic for it and I don't know where else to look.

Don't resort to this. We were outplayed for 52 minutes and MAF wasn't at his best.

If he says anything in regards to penalties, he should ask if we can decline PP opportunities..

Luckily he's too classy. We can leave the whining up to the other pansy coaches. I initially thought it would be funny if he did it sarcastically just to kind of give a shot to the refs about how they were obvously suckered and played by Tampa's coach but I think it's better to just leave it alone. In the long run he'll get more respect by not pssing and moaning about it.

SImple formula really over the past few months: MAF and four D core play well = Win, MAF and four core D fail = Loss.

Jesus how can you complain about that call on Staal? He hit him in the back and drove him into the boards. This season of all seasons you complain about that call.......

There was one BS call on Talbot, which they evened out in like 10 seconds.

I agree with this. Staal definitely boarded...and they're cracking down on boarding now so it was a no-brainer of a call. Not the reason why we lost, that's for sure.

Staal hit is a penalty no matter how you cut it. I think the whole "even-up" thing is getting out of control. It's hockey. If you commit a penalty...you get a penalty. I have no idea everything had to be all square. There is so much evening up going on, and it's very quickly getting out of control, IMO.

That Staal penalty completely changed the momentum of the game. Stupid penalty at the worst possible time.

The penalties in general sunk the Pens battleship last night. Especially the early stupidity in the first period. The Max call was iffy, but it gave them the opportunity they needed to seize control and they did just that.

We MUST stay out of the box against these guys or they'll make us pay. i know that the Pens PK was nails this season, but if you give them 6 chacnes every night, they are going to score on 1 or 2 every time without exception.

Tighten up on defense and stay out of the box. The two simple rules for winning this series.

Break them at your own peril.

I don't think it was a coincidence the best stretch of play was the 10+ minutes in the second where no calls were made. Pens were absolutely buzzing.
