Why would Q not switch johnson and dowell? Right now we have two bad lines instead of one mediocre line and 1 bad line.

I really don't like Kane's line. He needs to play with a goalscorer.

Smith-Frolik-Kane has played good hockey though

I'm getting a little uncomfortable with the Hawks being so tired and so injured with such an ugly bottom six. You guys are the champs until somebody beats you and no one has yet.

I think the Hawks will come out flying tonight, much like the Canucks did in game one. It'll be up to the Canucks to counter punch tonight.

This really is a game you guys can't afford to lose. It seems coach Q is preaching getting bodies in front of Luongo. I'm interested in who you guys see as doing that tonight because that philosophy actually works...not just with Luongo but every goalie in the league. So yeah, get bodies and pucks to the net.

Kesler will set up shop in front of Crawford tonight on any PPs we get. Higgins goes to the net as does Burrows.

So again, who do you guys see doing that for the Hawks tonight? Thanks.

Last year we came up with a few games that had surprise Eager or Sopel goals out of nowhere. I have this weird feeling that we need one of those tonight. Let the top line chip in a few and then let's see a "how'd that go in slapper" from Leddy or a Pisani deke or some weird off the faceoff Dowell contribution?

Is it too early to be daydreaming at work about 4th liners?

Stalberg-Johnson-Brouwer should be the third line.

Bickell-Dowell-Pisani should be kept together and limited to maybe 6 shifts, or even better, left curbside at the hotel.

Is this what you want? Or is that for sure the 3rd and 4th lines?

We need redirected shots, one timers and rebounds on net. If there are too many straight on shots that Luongo can handle, he will get confidence early and be a monster like was in game one.

If we do get to him early, it will be a different game and even the canuck forwards will lose a little jump in the skate! Like a snowball going downhill...... and all aspects of their game will be affected!

That's what I want.

Besides, with Q for sure would never last more than a shift.

last thing we need is seabrook/keith shooting wide every time hoping for redirects. Keith is already strugglin enough offensively.

Exactly!!

That's my assessment as well. Canít remember the last time we got a nice tip-in goal and it was quite fitting that Canucks 2nd goal came as a result of another of Keithís shots being blocked. The dmen refuse to wrist it to the net if necessary. Instead they telegraph it with the big wind up. This has been going on since day one this year and it is so frustrating to watch it game in and game out.

better to shoot wide than have it blocked, which happens far too often. Tip ins are a great remedy to cool off a hot goalie. And Lu needs to be remedied... tonight.

Really feel for Bolland, the guy is basically in Crosby's boat, reading that article on him really showed what his dealing with and how it's freaking him out, I say don't play him this series win or loose, that's scary stuff, its got to really hurt a competitor like he is. I really want to punch Kubina right now.

Anyways tonight I feel our luck will change.

5-3 hawks empty netter

According to twitter the lines are the same as they started in game 1.

On the plus side with Pisani in the line up we can see if he still has a playoff beast in him, but Im not counting on much.

True but... I get sick and tired of seeing nightly highlight reels whwere someone wrists one to the net through traffic for a tip or seeing eye goal. Our D seem to find that impossible to do!

Other than the fact that we were badly outmuscled in the first period, Hawks really didnít play that badly in the first game. Of course, they can be better but then again so can Canucks. I think we need to play a patient road game tonight and avoid odd man rushes against.
