This move kind of looks like DL is conceeding. The Kings org looks really bad right now.

All it is for him is a stopover point where he may play a double-digit figure of games. A series or two in the AHL or NHL will not make or break his development. What's most important is getting him ready to play 82 games next season and accepting whatever role the Kings want him to have in 2011-12.

Last season Couture finished out the season in the NHL after tearing apart the AHL and having a great season. He then came up to the NHL and put up 9 points. He also had 4 playoff goals. But now he fits in and that spurred him on to a great season this year. Schenn will only become productive for this team when he gets the chance to play games at this level. There will be kinks to iron out but I maintain it's best to give him a taste now. Enlighten him on what he needs to achieve to become a productive NHL'er. Keeping him in Manchester right now is really pointless because he's going to be up with the big club next season anyway.

This is so wrong.... Schenn already knows what it takes to be an NHL pro. The hockey gods who control the Kings have decided that he needs some time practicing those skills in a development league. That's an excellent decision because reps in games is what makes those skills instinctive. And that's the difference between everyone here happy with Jack Johnson one day and exasperated the next. He's still "thinking" his way through the game.

And we're not even considering where Schenn is physically.

Or the message to players who toughed out this entire season (or many other seasons grinding without the playoffs) only to see a rookie fly in to skate around like a madman, miss assignments, and get patted on the head.

Like they say... you earn the playoffs with blood and sweat all year. You don't get assigned to them.

This is an insult and would never fly in a real hockey market with a media that gave a crap. Luckily for Dean all anyone cares about is the Lakers 1st round and Kobe Bryant being insensitive to gays. I'm sure we'll get a few cliche laced quotes through Dean's mouthpiece Hammond, but thats it, he answers to no one else.
I just had to highlight this. You just called Stoll a good player. loL!

I thought I had zeen the lazt of John Zeiler but... he'z back!

Just because Stoll doesn't have the game sense to be a 2nd line center doesn't mean he is a bad player.

The Kings will be a much better team next season when Stoll is a 3rd line player and shootout specialist.

Wayne Simmonds is not a 2nd line player either, I guess you think I must hate him?

Does he? Has he spent enough time with the team and played with the caliber of players to know?

The Kings currently have 5 players on their roster that never played in an AHL regular season game. 6 counting Kopitar and if Schenn plays in the AHL next season I'll be shocked. All of whom are playing a huge role for this team. Only one of them is over 25. The guys who control the Kings are far from gods by the way. Gods win. It's not development time for the Monarchs either. They're trying to win too. He will be playing a role for them that he won't be playing in Los Angeles next season. How exactly is it helping him? The difference between he and guys like Couture or Subban is that the role they played in the AHL was the same role they were expected to play in the NHL. In Subban's case, moving the puck, making things happen and taking risks. Couture was in a scoring role in Worcester and he is now. This is not the case with Schenn.

They don't really care as long as they win. As long as the kid helps them win. Where Schenn is physically is a fair point, we really don't know.

Well then we'd probably see Handzus get signed to an extension and he'd probably get slower, and you guys know the rest.

No it's not. If that was the case, they'd cash in on the asset and deal him away. You don't put a player like that in day care for another year.

hell some of you say hes not ready, but are we really going to tank the playoffs another year while we can bring up a more talented player, i dont get this at all, schenn is much more talented, would this really ruin him? he handles himself well, and the team needs talent because we dont have any right now, what good would zeiler do, this is the play offs, cmon.

He was more than PPG player in the WHL, he was the best player in the WJCs, and he has 7 points in 7 games in the AHL. We all know what type of numbers he would post down there. He's ready. His resume speaks for itself.

It's a perfect call up. Zeiler will run every Shark player and irritate the hell out of them, get them off their game.... he's like a virus. Then to top it off, Westgarth will finally score. And then the earth will slowly spin to a stop....in wonder.

KINGS WILL WIN THIS GAME.

Well....my regular 5pm Friday happy hour drinking started early thanks to this wonderful effin news. I'm not even a DL hater/doubter, but this is a stupid move on all counts - given the current situation.
