Before the start of the series, I said that a split going back to the Bell Centre would be great. Now the Habs have a chance to head back home with a 2-0 lead, and the possibility of a sweep in the Bell Centre. How sweet would that be?
Didn't get a chance to post last night, I had my PhD defense today (I passed) but after last night, I re-sign Sopel. It was only one game but his size, shot blocking ability and Cup experience is a great complement to what we'll have next year. Shift Gorges to a top 4 role and keep Sopel as #6. You can do far worse than this guy. It may be a blessing in disguise that we were able to acquire him. His compete level is great too.
Markov, Gorges, Subban, Gill/Hamrlik, Wiz, Sopel and Spacek is a very healthy mix of offense and defense.
The Bruins should come out flying tomorrow. Survive the first 7-10 minutes and then take it to them. Trying to play harder than Boston on home ice knowing they need to win this game is not something any team in the league can do. Hold them off, let them beat themselves, then take it to them and crush their spirits even further.
I don't feel cocky for game 2.I think the Bruins will play a lot better.
I'm already happy that the Habs won one game in Boston if they are able to win 2 it will be a big bonus and Boston will feel the pressure to win two games in Montreal. They don't want the series to be 3-1.
