Go after him: sure. But realistically sign him? I'd rather just keep our eyes on Richards b/c Laich's gonna get paid; far more than we can have under the cap. For a guy that plays the way he plays, he'll have 25 teams calling him on July 1st.

Do you think he will get over 3 million?
Also Richards and Laich are not mutually exclusive, we can afford both.

Yes. Given the fact that there will be a lot of teams showing interest and combine that with the really weak crop of free agents. He won't demand what Richards is asking for, so everybody will think he's the next best thing. He wears an A, hits, plays a good two way game. He's a real safe sign.
If his agent plays it right, I could see him making a lot more than what he would be worth to us, especially given we already have Stepan, Boyle, A-squared, and probably either Christensen (if they resign him), Drury (if they don't buy him out), and Dubinsky (if you want to play him at center like Torts did this game).
Laich would be a nice addition, but only at the right cost.
No. On our team, he is Ruslan Fedotenko. And Feds will be cheaper.
We have RFAs to sign and will probably take a run Richards. No room to sign guys like Laich on the open market. Laich is a solid player, but I don't know what he adds to the team that we don't already have.
no thanks. with Rad Richards, we will have plenty of centers. He's an ideal 3rd line center or a poor team's 2nd line center (like Islanders or Minnesota). i'll take Stepan and Anisimov over Laich please. Also, whatever he gets is coming out of someone else's pocket. Probably Richards so double no.
He's a good player, I wouldn't be upset if we landed him BUT...We are going to have a log jam at forward, and I'd rather that roster spot be filled by one of our prospects.
He'd just be redundant. If we're going to bring in UFAs, they need to address areas of need. Laich doesn't. Either we bring in elite talent, or we stand pat. Feds will costs 1/3 the price.

Exactly. Plus, Laich will probably look to cash in on his only chance to really get paid. Last thing we need is to overpay for a player we don't need.
No. No more ****** plumbers, especially not the expensive FA kind. Top end scoring talent or continue to develop our own, I've had enough of other team's cast-offs come FA time.

Plumbers? Do you realize that he is a fairly consistent 50 point player? 20 goals 30 assists from your 3rd line center is very good. Although he does get a lot of icetime including PP time.
