-James Neal. Perhaps he needs to play some third line minutes until he scores.
-Kris Letang. Doesn't even deserve ice time right now, I'd rather Engelland because he'd at least try.

Pretty much all I have, nothing to be happy about with this game because for the better part of it the team just didn't try. Particularly in the third period.

Good second period push though.

The most frustrating part is how beatable Tampa is. Letang was atrocious. If he and Martin are better this is a one goal game. The execution was inexcusably bad tonight.

I would also like to see Arron Asham get more ice time in Game 3.

He played like he cared tonight, and had a good game one.

+ The game is over

Just throw this game away. Nothing good came out of it. Even our 1 goal was because Roloson failed, not because we did anything right. If Letang doesn't turn things around real fast, he could miss the rest of the playoffs and I wouldn't care.

Agree on the first part, the pens would massacre this team with crosby and malkin. I still think they can grind them out and win this series, but they can't play stupid like they did tonight.

This game illustrates precisely why a competent powerplay is essential for this team to go anywhere, particularly so in this series. They manage to draw a ton of penalties but fail to score, and as a result when the referees inevitably even the penalties out they're forced to kill off penalties against a very dangerous powerplay unit.

Hell, if I'm Tampa Bay I don't mind taking penalties in the least. Even if the Penguins end up recieving a few more powerplays you're talking about a tremendous discrepancy in powerplay effectiveness. Tampa Bay could likely take two or three times as many minors and still end up with more powerplay goals at the end of this series, so the more they turn this into a special teams fest the better for them.

That's what I don't get. He has on of the best slappers on the team and even is a RH shot. And he cares. And he's playoff proven. Seriously, what's wrong with putting him on the pp on the left hand wall, it definitely CAN NOT get any worse. At least he can shoot the puck. And get Letang of the pp, he pisses me the hell off for months now. Not because he makes mistakes, they do, but because he doesn't give a **** and shows it.

- Letang. Putrid. Nuff said. Doesn't deserve playing time right now.
- Staal. Ready to hire Missing Persons to find this guy. While they're at it, maybe find Letangs game.
- James 'Ponikarosky' Neal. We have enough griders James. Holy Hell I thought Dupuis had stone hands.
- Fleury. Bad game. But since he's been our best player for months, I guess he's allowed a bad night.
- Martin. Worst game I've seen from him all year.
- PP. Maybe the most embarassing PP in the history of organized hockey.

+ Asham played well.

Don't need to say much else, honestly. They might as well put up a sign that says "Hey Pittsburgh, we're ****ing you tonight". So many missed calls. It was almost as though they called 1 out of every 3 penalties against Tampa, and were searching for calls against us. Hopefully that "evens" it out, and they cut the ********. Even though it wouldn't have helped, we should have had about 10 or 12 power plays this game.

I mentioned this a couple of times in the GDT, and it's really my only minus of the night simply because it's been a constant problem for going on two seasons now.

We need to produce on the PP. We simply don't have the offense to compete if we rely on scoring 5 on 5 all the time, and don't take advantage of the opportunities we're given. 0 for 12 now in the series is ridiculous.

The fact the the Pens are the ONLY team in the NHL that hasn't won a game when trailing after two periods ALL SEASON is pretty telling and pathetic at the same time. Which makes your statement even more true. We need to score first if we want to win this series, otherwise it's gonna be really tough.

And I have no in a single post bashed him before. But seriously, how did James Neal get all of his goals in Dallas? How?

I would add a plus to Rupp & Orpik as well.

- Talbot for helping take the Pens off their game.

- Dan Blysma for not calling a timeout and get into these guys heads of what needed to be done. To many players were looking for hits way too much.

- They played right into the Lightning & Refs hands. Who has been here before?

- leading up to discipline.

oh, also:

Big plus to lovejoy and niskanen. The media made a big deal about playing the top 4 most of the game, but our 3rd pairing is the only one that didn't make mistakes, cough cough Paul Martin cough cough. They deserve more time

Brad Richards. A superior playmaker and excellent center.

When Neal gets to play with Crosby or Malkin, I suspect he'll be back in 20+ goal form (instead of 1 goal every 20 games).

You can complain about missed calls all you want, but we ahd 7 pp's, how many do you want? And it's not like we do anything with them anyways. Hell, it's pretty much 2 minutes wasted of my life everytime we have a pp. I think Tampa had more scoring chances shorthanded than we had on the pp.
