Wow against Recchi, Marchand and Peverley. Lucic and Horton would sure as hell not get knocked around like that.
That very well maybe true but with all due respect your bigger players weren't playing that way...
They seemed hesitant and couldn't dictate their game...
I don't think too many habs fans can doubt the fact that if those guys could've controlled the game the way they wanted to then these boards would've had a much different atmosphere
What makes POs so special is everything is out the door in the regular season literally... and everything is under a much smaller microscope where coaches and teams can pick apart the smallest details and totally shred opposing teams
I am not saying they can't play like that but Lucic and Horton did not play they way they were built to play nor the way they were advertised which is why its Habs 1 - Boston 0
Yea and I am sick of the Bruins getting this rep as this huge big bad team. Let's put it to rest already.
The Bruins have 3 guys over 200 pds up front who are regulars.
The Habs have 7.
i don't think that's the issue at all and i think the habs would agree. the issue is 6'9 chara and 6'4 lucic- two guys that are extremely hard to neutralize - and it's not just the habs. i don't think the habs are intimidated at all by the b's - not the habs vets - and now that the habs dress two solid middleweights in white (led both teams in hits with 8 last game) and moen i think it's even less... so how to beat these two? because it won't be with brute force. i think some of the habs recent draft picks - especially tinordi, while an org. need is in direct response to guys like lucic.
like i said, it's not the 'entire' B's team it's lucic and chara...
thornton plays 5-7 mins a night
