Lurch is playing tonight.

Quote:
"I've beat up a couple of their guys," Scott said Sunday morning after practice. "I think it's in the back of their heads, hopefully. If I can get someone to go [Sunday night] I'll be happy to be oblige."
Also good news for Bolland:

Quote:
Quenneville all but declared Bolland available for Game 4.

"Every day is more encouraging," he said. "Today there was some consideration. We're optimistic next game being able to rejoin us."

^ Also said Kopy and Bickell were considered. If we win tonight, we may win game 4 just from the life of having Bolland and those two back. Now we have to take care of business tonight.

lets just hope he doesnt start trying to start too many fights and put vancouver on the powerplay, this van teams seems to have there head on straighter this year and not as likely to get into it and retaliate with cheap slashes and such, but then again maybe scott could be the guy that gets under their skin

Plant Scott right in front of Luongo. Let them draw the penalties hammering him.

Minor errata for the Canucks' lineup:

Raymond won't be on the 4th line. We're not sure who comes out for Torres and Samuelsson, but Hodgson is speculated as the most likely.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Kesler-Samuelsson
Torres-Raymond-Hansen
Glass-Lapierre-Oreskovich

...is my guess what the lines will be. And Andrew Alberts has been good to go since around when Edler came back iirc. On the roster as the 7th dman. Rome doesn't count.

Okay, I'll gtfo now.

*edit* Yeah, those were the lines at the morning skate.

You can guess why he's at the game by himself.

If scott dresses, he better be playing d. Campoli can fill in as a bottom 6 winger. there's always the smart plan of just rolling with 11 forwards if the 12th is going to be somebody of dowell's caliber. Can't afford another game 82 debacle.
Do you know ANYTHING about hockey?

So you'd rather see scott get 6-8 minutes as a forward than as a defensmen? Okay.

No sane person would want Scott playing defense. Forward, the damage can be limited.

Exactly

Scott's lack of speed would kill us on blueline

With 4th line you limit his minutes and damage

I seem to remember him playing decent at D this season. If he's at forward, I can't wait to watch the hawks play like its a PK.

Your memory sucks. Suggesting that we put Scott on defense, and move Campoli to forward, might be the most illogical and insane comment I've seen on the Hawk boards here. EVER. Unless the end goal is to lose to Vancouver as fast as possible, and give up 10 goals. Then, it actually makes sense.

Scott is more useful than Dowell AND Pisani combined on the fourth line. At least Scott can fight and is intimidating. He also won't get run over fifteen times a game because he has his head down, like Pisani. The Canucks will avoid him and nobody will challenge him if he goes to the front of the net and takes a poke at Luongo when he freezes the puck.

The other two bring nothing whatsoever to this roster. The guy that spreads out the Hawks' equipment after the game to dry, is more important to this team than Dowell or Pisani are. They have nothing they excel at, except being terrible hockey players. Bobby Hull could probably get out there and contribute more than those two do.

The point wasn't that I think we should move campoli to forward. it was supposed to imply that I don't want scott to dress at all but if he does, give him his 6-7 minutes on D.

If scott gets on the ice at forward with pisani or dowell on the other wing, I can almost guarantee that we get pinned in our zone the whole time. Its going to be bad.

Am I the only one who thinks Bieksa is the last guy who should be making fun of John Scott for not being able to skate and other players just skating around him?

Changes nothing. At forward, he really can't hurt us. On defense, he surely can...

If I remember correctly Scott was actually pretty decent the last few games he played. I have no problem with him dressed on the fourth line. I'd sooner him than Dowell. Both suck but at least Scott is intimidating/can throw down. Dowell couldn't beat Burish in a fight. Christ, Daniel Sedin would probably tune Dowell.

Fighting means what in playoffs?

No one will drop gloves with Scott outside of worthless goons like Westgarth

Not necessarily fight, but at least stick up for some of our guys. They might think twice about running Kane or one of the smaller guys.
