The Devils nicknames are the same way. If one goes to the official team website's roster page, CLICK HERE, one will see that the are not too imaginative. John Madden's "Mad Dog" and Serge Brylin's "Sarge" aren't too bad though. They failed to put "The Professor" for Igor Larionov. At least they removed Turner "Judas Iscariot" Stevenson "Hogwallop" from the list (that's my own nickname for the former Devil turned Flyers.)

Brian Gionta, nicknamed "G" or "Gio," was referring to himself as "G Love" to his teammates sometime ago. They started to call him "Glove" as a joke.

Funny you should bring that up. Glenn Resch is nicknamed "Chico" because of the 1970's television show Chico and the Man. Resch's Islanders teammate Doug Rombough. Resch was learning Spanish and resembled the shows star Freddie Prinze, Sr.

Ed Jovanovski has been referred to as Special Ed for a long time. The trainer from Louisville (when passing through Thunder Bay when the Panthers had a July rookie camp up her) said he is about the dumbest person he has ever met that hasn't been in a 'special ed' class, although there was another Panther prospect (named John if I recall correctly) that together with Jovo were referred to as the Mensa boys.
