The good: Brandon Dubinsky
The bad: hmm maybe Gaborik just because he's not playing up to what he should be.
The Redden: has to be the staches. Those things are horrible. Boyle's isn't that bad but Dubi looks like he dyed his. He's probably taking a lot of talk in the locker room for that lol

You know, after listening to this fat ass last night and this morning, it almost makes you glad we have a coach who when asked about the questionable reffing after the first two games didn't say much and took the high road.

Is there anything Boudreau has not complained about?

That was probably the first thing he complained about, the portions were clearly inadequate for him, let alone the entire Caps team!

agree 100%. he's a liability in this type of series, as the caps are good at turning it quickly through the N zone. he's horrifically slow.

I also agree. Personally, I'd sit McCabe and run with Eminger-Gilroy as the third pair, because even with McCabe the PP isn't working.

There were multiple times during the game yesterday where I thought McCabe looked like a slower version of Redden, if that is even possible to comprehend. Now that's like beyond bad.

I said after the first game that I wanted to see Eminger in for McCabe, but it will never happen because of McCabe's "potential" on the PP. I'm just glad he's a rental, guy looks close to done.

McCabe is not able to get the shot through on the pp so I think it's time to sit him and put in the tougher and more mobile Eminger.

That's exactly why I put that in. You know it's time to hang them up when Steve ****ing Eminger is faster and harder to play against (though he has been a fine number 6 all year and deserves a chance at the POs). McCabe is just terrifying in his own end.

I'm reluctant to want to pull McCabe out because of that potential PP presence. But if it isn't there and Torts insists on Gilroy, then please pull him for Eminger.

At the game yesterday and Boudreau is trying so hard to get Semin away from McD and into a matchup with McCabe. McCabe is not just slow but he is very slow to start from a stopped position. On the other hand Gilroy played very well and is keeping that pair from getting completely abused.

I think people are starting to take McD and Sauer for granted but they are so steady. And it's not just the skating. They make subtle little passes and win puck battles consistently in a way that is mundane but extraordinary at the same time. We shouldn't lose sight of how good these two are with Staal and Girardi getting all the props because they are facing Ovi. The Caps are not a one line team.

I would use McCabe sparingly go with 5 D for another game. If the PP continues to struggle then he serves no real purpose and I would play Eminger (who I don't love). But at a minimum Eminger can move his feet well enough to keep the Caps forwards from getting good scoring opps.

And, McCabe will not be the reason that V-Tank and MDZ do not play next year with the big club. They must let him walk.

I say keep him benched. This is going to be a very physical series. We can't afford to have him in the lineup over anyone else at this point.

If we make it to the 2nd round, maybe he goes in if we're facing a softer team.

It was a very quiet crowd. Not my fault.

How was the train ride back to DC Coach Boudreau?

A very quiet crowd? really?

Tell the truth: were you at the game? or are you going by TV crowd noise? have you seen/heard any of the youtube vids that people from the crowd have posted?

Seriously: were you there?>

No, apparently I've only been to the quiet ones. We can't all be as lucky and worldly as you.

It wasn't that quiet. There were lulls as in all games but there a ton of encouragement coming from the stands and everyone was on the edge of their seat reacting to the play when appropriate. What do you want? Indiscriminate screaming and chanting for 60 minutes? Trust me, the crowd was into the game and very loud at the right times.

Semin flying by McCabe in game 1 was embarassing. So too have been some of his blatant screwups that also did not result in goals. What do we know from this? Defensively, next year V Tank and McIlrath cannot possibly be worse so give at least one a shot.

Zucc has no place in this series so why even go there?

has it ever been more apparent what an asset Callahan is?

Saw this very interesting and relevant comment on the TSN article:

Really Bruce? Funny, you were awful quiet when Brashear blatantly attempted to injure Betts two years ago. And then, Betts wasn't bent over putting his head in a vulnerable position like Green was.
