[SWE] Mora - Leksand - ???

Leksand got relegated and Mora came out of nowhere to take the SEL spot, and who expects them to stay in the SEL next year? So follow me now in this Dala-armageddon picture I'm painting here:

Next year Mora gets relegated.

SEL stays a 12 team league, no extra room for advancement.

Skellefteå, who arguably has the best players on paper, gets promoted.

Leksand builds a new arena, but fails to advance to the SEL within the next two or three years - each year losing more sponsors and fans and force in their aim to get back.

Meanwhile teams like Västerås, Växjö and Björklöven get stronger. Possibly Hammarby too if they don't fall from grace with Anschutz again.

Now, that would leave us with a SEL without a team from Dalarna, which still is a pretty big district hockewise. Will this open up for any other team from the same area or will fans turn elsewhere and make Dalarna a hockey wasteland? Their culture is (or was) strong but that is no ensurance. Is there any other team from Dalarna that could be up to the challenge if the two old greats fail to establish themselves in the SEL?

Hmm Dalarna is a "landskap", a sort of province in sweden. A Län is more like an administrative and legal province.

It's the same thing. But nobody ever talks about Kopparberg. It's always Dalarna.

i don't know really what to hope for ....

i've never been a big fan of the teams from Dalarna - i'd rather see my "landskap" Jämtland get a team up in the top 2 divisions, but i guess that'll never happen

no-one wants to move here to play hockey..

...make some effort now!

"Dalarna County was known as Kopparberg County, or Kopparbergs län, until 1997. Kopparberg literally means Copper Mountain."

Atleast Krutov moved to Jämtland a couple of years ago I believe that Jämtland could be a team for Allsvenskan within a few years.

and finally dont be so sure that She left you will be a SEL this time next year. Somehow they always manage to chock.

Falun is also a pretty "big" city in Dalarna.

Borlänge took a bronze medal in the J-16 Swedish Championship a couple of years ago with Lars Jonsson, Magnus Hedlund and Daniel Hermansson on the roster.

i know, but i've never heard of a hockey team in falun. when i think of falun, i think of cross-skiing.

The next big hockey county will be Bohuslän!

Come on, soon Munkedal, Lysekil and Uddevalla will dominate the SEL. :lol
