The team is better off without him, as you can see, we are 1-2 since he's been reinserted.
i dont think you would be able to articulate Grier's role

Like so many of the forwards, the line combos were not working. Ennis/Nieds/Poms with the first goal of the game and all b/c of Ennis. Ellis doesn't make that play.

Patience. Thank gods we're not the coach or GM.

Thread failure only rivaled by the Myers draft thread.

Yeah, and it's never the "well, here goes nothing" versions, it's usually when a sizeable portion of the fanbase agrees with the OP

I started the original Ennis thread, when he was a prospect. I followed him closely... and I can say Jame has never seemed to be a fan of this guy by his posts. Well, again he is proven wrong. Glad things aren't up to him because he figured in the lone goal in Game 4, an assist on the winner, and he was the hero of Game 5, but please do further enlighten us with how much more you know about the game than Lindy Ruff.

hehe Just teasing you Jame, but failure on the thread. Patience is a virtue.

Jame....got anymore self-serving posts?

Does Ruff get any credit for sticking with Ennis in your infinite wisdom?

Jame has to start a "Vanek should be benched" thread. These threads always work imo.....

What I hate about these threads is what I hate about Lavalamp... they never give credit to the other team for what they did to shut the subject down.

Ennis took a couple of games (and new linemates) to adjust to this series and the way Philly had schemed against us. Some players will struggle against certain teams b/c of the matchups etc. It's the playoffs, and on different nights different guys can be the hero/goat.

Vanek's been not good in this series but he has 3 goals. Since for the series the Sabres and Flyers each have 12 goals, all of them are important. Ennis could suck for the rest of the series but that won't take away that he was good when we needed him in Games 4 and 5.

I wonder what kind of effect an 'Enroth should be sent to the pressbox' post would produce. Explosions? Crying babies? The US switching to the metric system?

I thought Boyes played OK last night, and he did have one of the assists, didn't he?

I think this whole thing started with the "blow up everything" threads back in December.

Pretty sure HFboards is the official motivating tool for the team.

I thought his competitiveness is not there yet -- he lost some weak puck possession fights along the wall and in front of the Flyers' net. And he did have some better offensive plays including one series where he put the puck through the crease from behind the net. If he can start to contribute too.... excellent.

you know, at one point last night, I was watching him skate, and I swear, by the way he was skating I wondered "is he's playing injured?"

he looked like he was really laboring to keep going...
maybe he was out of gas at the end of a shift? dunno...

He may not be in Sabres-level conditioning. Remember what happened to Torres last year? Ruff's system demands a certain level of conditioning and Boyes may be out of gas. We don't know what they demand over in StL.

Or, Occam's Razor, he could be injured, as you say.

Either way, he's not been very effective, if not downright awful at times. If they can close this out in 6 the extra days off will help a lot of guys, including him.

Lindy's guide to success this season:

Step #1. Read HFboards
Step #2. Do the exact opposite
Step #3. Win
