It's not a rule change. Nobody talked about what would happen with 4 divisions per conference before this.

A rule change would be trying to get the three trade limit undone middraft...

It's a rule change, pure and simple. It should have been decided before the draft started.

How can it be a change if there was no rule to begin with?

And yes, more should have been decided before the draft started. VI and his multiple accounts made it as difficult as possible to discuss rules beforehand.

I have a more common-law view of rulemaking that the average north american. I think rules are best made up when issues come up, rather than everything having to be planned to the last detail beforehand. There must be a general structure in place, but life will always throw you a curve and we must accept that sometimes rules have to be made up to account for unforseen situations. My aborted attempt to claim Orland Kurtenbach, for example, fell into a grey area of the rules, and had to be dealt with as the issue came up. VanI hilariously lectured me about "responsibility" and I realized that it was an unnecessary and somewhat bush league move to begin with and quickly decided that we were better off with a rule which excluded dropped players from the free agent pool. Changes to already agreed-upon rules should never happen in-draft, but creating new rules to handle what 30-40 devious GMs can come up with will always be a part of the ATD.

Not if the situation is different, and it is. It is divisions and conferences that are arbitrary and that we want to reduce the power of.

The reason we're reseeding is to reduce the effect of division placement randomness. The order of meaningfulness is head to head play > regular season voting > conference/division randomness. Once you've played someone outside of your division, it's the first that's in play, not the third, so there is no need to use the second. If an 8th seed beats a 1st head to head in our voting, that's more meaningful than how he was seeded in his own division.

This is true.

I was super late sending my votes to him, and I know JFA was too, but stoneberg hasn't been around for a while. I'm sure when he signs on, he's got the results all ready to send.

Yes. nik and jfa both voted. so the only ones who didn't are:

arrbez, BM67, hungryhungryhippy, jkrx, matsblue13, Mr Bugg, MXD, papershoes, Rick Middleton

and not all of them were supposed to.

HHH said he was going to vote IIRC

Too bad Mr Bugg got frustrated with the VI fiasco ( can't blame him )

Looks like he liked my team from his review , to be honest I can pretty much predict the ranking of my division but I'll keep it to myself and see.

arrbez was planning on voting on the rest of the divisions other than ours I know. He just wasn't sure if he'd get the time

For better suspense, I'm just going to create the matchup threads for the preliminary rounds and not release the standings until perhaps tonight or tomorrow.

Rude! Haha. Come on now we all just want to see it ASAP. I want to see how bad our squad got murdered. Just get it out as soon as Stoneberg hits you with it

what does this means exactly? you're gonna tell us who we are facing without saying what our position in the ranking are?

how does this thign work exactly?

1-bye
2 vs 5
4 vs 3 ?
then after what do we do with the 1st 2nd and 3rd for example ?

nope. the goal is to narrow it to 4 teams right away. So it's 4v5 in a quick preliminary round, the winner getting to advance to play #1. (for someone who posts as much as you do, you don't read much!)

and the "us" you're referring to is only the 4th & 5th-ranked teams, and you may not even be one of them.
