God I can't ****ing sleep! I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. If Buffalo wins, and can get a little more healthy. I could see them making the ECF at least. If Philly wins. I could see them making the ECF at least. I just can't see them winning the cup with that goal tending. Good luck tonight. Go Sabres! In the cucumber we trust.

Just out of curiosity, can you see the Sabres winning the cup?

No, but I couldn't see the Bruins and Canucks blowing a 3 to 0 lead either. I honestly am just taking these playoffs in as a bonus. If they beat you guys tomorrow, then great. They'd need way to much to go right in order for me to even think cup. Again good luck.
Any word on how much Roy will be used tomorrow? What are the Buffalo fans' opinions? Will he help the lineup as much as he may hurt the chemisty? Will he even hurt the chemisty? I can't imagine it being all positives with him coming back...

There is not much chemistry left to begin with... Ennis-Nieds-Stafford have some, Gerbe-Gaustad, that's it... I felt that Vanek-Connolly-Boyes had two shifts were they started to come along - but we know how that ended and Connolly is done again...
Strange series for Buffalo, being shorthanded all the time certainly didn't help...

Roy is screaming from the rooftops that he's 100% and can't wait to get back in the lineup. Not really a fair comparison, but you didn't hear that sort of thing from Pronger or Laviolette.
I'm really not sure. He is the team's #1 center. He had 35 points in 35 games before getting hurt and was leading all forwards in TOI by a mile. He wore an A. And now, after being officially ruled out for the season, he's magically returning for a Game 7.
Even if he's a little rusty, that's got to be a major mental boost for the team. In any case, he's world's better as a center than Rob Niedermayer, Paul Gaustad and Matt Ellis. I guess I can see him making a rusty turnover that leads to a goal, but it's hard to really imagine any negatives here.
I also don't think it's any stretch to say this could be the defining game of Derek Roy's career.
If he really is the new, grown-up, hard-working, leadership-caliber Derek Roy that everyone hopes he is, and not the supremely talented but whiny little baby that hides behind the DJ booth, we're going to find out about it tonight.
I don't know how the hell I'm going to get any work done today

I was thinking it'll be an early zone-exit without the puck, leaving the D to hang out to dry that leads to a goal against. But yeah... something.
He's put in the work, both in the off-season, and now in coming back from injury. If anything may have forced him to grow up, it was the combo of last summer's criticism and now this injury.

I'm less worried about chemistry. Gerbe or Ennis were quoted in the news yesterday as saying that Roy has been around the team a lot and provided a lot of advice and leadership.

Yeah, I read that too. Made me happy to hear - sounds like Roy might finally be learning what it takes to be a winner.
Different players, but his arc is really not all that dissimilar to Mike Richards.

Thanks. I just need to know how worried I should be. As for Pronger, it's fairly well known he's not 100%. He was probably dressed more for moral boost (and an attempt at PP boost) than anything. There was a rumor that started floating early last week that Pronger re-broke the wrist...which Holmgren squashed....which means its re-broken...
Good series Buffalo. Your team played hard, barring game 7, and you guys almost pulled a pretty good upset. You guys will probably be back in the playoffs next year, perhaps even as a higher seed, so until next time. Glad we don't have to see Miller anymore.
Buffalo showed a lot of heart considering the disparity in talent between the two teams. As much as he annoys me, Nathan Gerbe is obviously a very tough, driven dude. I thought he and Niedermeyer were really, really good.
Now that all is said and done: It was an extremely fun series. Ups and downs on both sides, two exciting OT games, pretty much everything you want out of a 7G series.
Obviously it's much easier talking about it when you win. I don't blame any Sabres fan who's not exactly welcoming of Flyers fans right now. Still, props to the Sabres and their fans. They could've easily won in 6 if not for Ruff's turtle tactics (seriously, that's gotta stop). Gragnani and Gerbe annoyed the hell out of me during the last 7 games.
Aside from the odd delusional homer - that are common occurrence in every fanbase - I enjoyed discussing the series with Sabres fans and banter about it.
Whelp, what a letdown to an otherwise thrilling series.
Debating on whether or not I want to wish the Flyers luck. I definitely don't like Mike Richards as much anymore (though I'd still love him on my team) and I realized Versteeg is a little rat, but this is how rivalries are born.
In the end, the more talented team won. The switch was flipped for game 7 and Lindy's "turtle tactics" (totally stealing this, love it) backfired big time.
The Sabres were all-or-nothing on Miller, and that's not really going to get it done. The only reason the Sabres had any offense was because the Flyers goaltending let in weak goals, and even with that they lost two games where the starter was pulled.
