Shirokov is hot with Moose - bring him up?

What are the chances that Shirokov may be called up? I heard that he is playing his best hockey since he moved to North America, is there a way they can bring him up for game 7? Sorry, I don't know about the issues the Canucks were having during the last three games but perhaps having another dangerous forward will help the team?

No chance. Not an Alain Vigneault player; he looked good during his last callup but the coach found some mysterious reason to bench him when everyone else thought he was effective.

I kind of get that feeling that he is not very liked by the coach but the situation appears to be that something absolutely must be changed for the Canucks to get out of this slump, the momentum favors Chicago big time. I was thinking that Vigneault realizes it and would gamble on something along the lines of bringing up a player or two.

I actually don't think he's most of those things. Did you come up with your impression from watching the guy play or because he's Russian?

Sure, let's bring up an unproven, undersized, inexperienced defensive liability to play in one of the most important games in franchise history.

Sounds good to me.

RFAs are very easy to keep. On top of that Gillis is a fantastic GM.

He'll be up next year, after AV gets canned.

And why are people saying he is a defensive liability? Because he isn't strong on the puck? (See Wellwood). Or, because AV says so? In which case, you need help.

well, vigneault is at the "throw-****-at-the-wall-and-see-what-sticks" point, so why not

realistically, it's a terrible idea, but still would be an upgrade on aaron rome

AV screwed up with Grabner, so why not? put him on the 4th line, watch him get the GWG.

We could use the talent across all 4 lines.

Shirokov and Bill Sweatt are the only two forwards scoring for the Moose. Both undersized forwards that know how to show up when it counts.

wouldn't really classify either as undersized. Shiro is built like a tank, and Sweatt is 6 feet. Clark is an example of undersized forward that is showing up when it counts.

Take one look at how carefully AV has sheltered Hodgson's minutes...and you'll have your answer. Not gonna happen.
