Timonen 5 holed Gerbe with his stick, and then chaos ensued.

The juvenile overstatements about Miller seem like mandatory fare around here. The guy is just as likely to allow 4 softies as he is to be completely dominant. He was fabulous tonight. Leave it at that.

Why couldn't you have "left it at that"?

I was thinking the same thing. Hard to explain why. Only thing I can come up with is the Sabres are winning games while not playing their best hockey.

And in his NHL career if he is just as likely to let in 4 softies he wouldn't have lasted 1 season in the NHL. Talk about overstatement

Sometimes he does look average, yes. But that is much much lower than 50% of the time.

This board has become almost unreadable. Hard not to comment on it.

Right. And no one is ever truly "completely dominant." I think you got my point.

edit: too funny ending to Rags/Caps

It was said on the GDT thread versus here but I wanted to give some kudo's to whomever said the Ref's would not generate a make up call for the 5 minute major because the NHL was serious about shots to the head.

I read that one totally wrong as did the Flyer coaching staff.....

G:

-Miller. Was excellent tonight.
-Myers. That's more like it.
-Gerbe working hard tonight, as usual.
-Butler. Munch those minutes, Chris.
-Grags. Kid has a gift when it comes to passing. He can score, too, and eventually he'll be confident enough to start whipping shots at the net. He's quickly gained Ruff's trust, and he's getting more run than vets and guys who've been here all year. He's going to be on the team next season.
-Thought Weber was solid tonight, as well.
-Nieds looked great in the first period.

Bad:
-Leopold. Looked shaky. Have to wonder if he's 100% yet.
-Vanek. A complete non-factor again.
-Ennis. The lob pass to himself aside, he was a turnover machine tonight. Guy isn't willing to pay the price this postseason.
-Monty. Pretty much played himself off next year's team over the last six weeks.
-Stafford. Invisible tonight.

Ugly:
-Connolly. Good PK'ing. Otherwise, he sucked hard.
-Laviolette. He's gonna be *****ing about the officiating for the next 36 hours.
-These boards, at times.

Ugly: Goose. For as good as he played the first couple games, he was absolutely terrible tonight, especially in the third. He gave the Flyers two awesome chances in the 3rd and lost every key draw in our zone in the 3rd, at least his last 5 draws were losses.
