I actually got to watch Darzins play in Riga's last game against MVD in the playoffs. He didn't really stand out to me at all. The only young players that really made an impression on me were Ugarov and Kokarev for MVD. (BTW, KHL playoff games are on ESPN360/ESPN3 for those interested.)

I am intrigued by the Linus Klasen rumor, though. That might be a pretty savvy buy. He's pretty quick from what I recall.

Darzins (DAR-ZINCH!) was a prospect I liked a lot, as I got to see him quite a bit while watching webcasts of Shea Weber's games with Kelowna, back in the day. I was disappointed that it never really went anywhere, but as someone mentioned, I don't believe he is Preds' property anymore.

According to this poorly-translated article, Darzins has recieved interest from some NHL teams.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him come over. He's a top KHL player and I believe is a free agent. He'll want a one-way contract though, but I think he'd be worth it. I don't know why the Preds signed Jonas Andersson instead of Darzins; he has so much more upside than Andersson and is honestly a better two-way player. Hope he comes over and is with the Preds in camp.
