Since 03/04 a member of the Lightning or Redwings has won the Lady Byng. Dont really see that changing this year. Either MSL or Lidstrom should win IMO.

Any chance that Loui Eriksson wins?

datsyuk is very clearly less gentlemanly than lidstrom.

lidstrom should have won at least 10 byngs.

voting is stupid, though. basically just points and PIM.

A little off topic, but does anyone else here think they should really consider changing the name of this trophy?

No more than they should change the names of the Hart, Art Ross, Norris, Selke, Vezina, etc... If people honestly can't get beyond the name, maybe they should work a little harder graduating beyond junior high.

He has a point, really. If you can't look beyond the "Lady" in the name of the trophy, you probably don't know the history behind it.

Personally I think it's the best personal award in sports.

The only people people who have a problem with it are fans who can't accept its named after a women. The players don't care about that, winning it is as big an honour then any other award.

Really hoping Lidstrom finally wins this but his PIMs might be a bit too high. Either of the other two would also be worthy recipients though.

Some of them do. But it's the same sort of reasoning for them.

The ones that do would never win it though.

Lidstrom should have won it like 5 times already.
