I hope he's as good for the Stars as Pegula is for the Sabres. BTW, if we're talking about a dark horse team for Richards services, it's Buffalo.

If they don't re-sign Connolly, that's $4.5 right there. I'd certainly say they could be a real threat for Richards and I sure as hell would rather have him go there then the Rangers. I think Rivet's re-entry salary is gone as well.

If you can get Richards and let go of Connolly, you do that move 15,000 times out of 100. Pegula wants to spend money, he's shown he wants to, that's why Bad Boy, Brad Boyes is there now.

Buffalo has a good team for the future, and a #1 C is exactly what they need. It's a good fit for both parties.

Connolly might be broken. That hit the other day definitely wasn't conducive to his health.

Agreed. I'd much prefer Richards to stay out West.

Ray Emery (ANA), Daymond Langkow (CGY) and Ian Laperriere (PHI) are finalists for Bill Masterton Trophy.

Why Lappy? He retired. Didn't play. Forget it.

I love Lappy.

I give it to Emery.

Ongoing negotiations to keep the NHL in Glendale. Atlanta is quickly becoming a real option for Wpg next season. More on TSN.ca soon.

Wait, what? Phoenix might stay and Atlanta might move? That's surprising.

Speculation is that one or the other will end up in Winnipeg.

They're trying everything to make Phoenix work, but they care less about Atlanta, which is surprising because I think Atlanta is a better market.

Plus the hassle of moving Atlanta is far more detrimental than moving Phoenix. The divisions can stay the same in a Phoenix/Winnipeg move, but they can't in an Atlanta/Winnipeg move.

Wonder how big Buff feels about signing that extension now!

I guess if Atlanta moves, they become Winnipeg and sit in the Central division, Detroit or Columbus, but probably Detroit moves East in the North East division. Boston probably moves into the Atlantic while they put one of Philly, the Isles, or the Devils in the South East.

Would I want the Devils to move to the South East? Probably not. The Isles? Why not, they're irrelevant to the ATL now.

But they'd save themselves a ton of trouble of Hulsizer bought Atlanta instead of Phoenix and move the Yotes to the Peg.

The division realignment would get crazy if Atlanta moved West. I think they should move Atlanta to Quebec if they're going to move it at all.

Again, that means either you can do a four team division in the South East and have a six team North East. Or one of PHI/NJ/NYI has to move out of the ATL.

It's just a hell of a lot easier to move the Yotes to Winnipeg.

They could also scrap the names of the divisions and go to

East/Central/West
East/Central/West

Like they do in baseball.

Or they could go back to the old names, adding two more divisions. Adams, Patrick, Norris, Smythe. What was wrong with that?

Or Detroit moves east, as some have suspected they desire.
