One of the keys to the game tonight will be getting the physical jump on them in the first couple of shifts like in game 4. It will be a lot tougher to do in Philly, their fans are going to have them jacked up.

Yeah. And I'm not averse to 131'ing them for the entire game, out of the gate, and waiting to score on the transition again. They're coming off of a shutout, let's keep that goal-less streak going and see if that turns into frustration we can capitalize on.

To be honest I'm shocked we were able to beat them 1-0 once let alone twice. I would be amazed if we can use that formula going forward to win the series. Philly will get their goals.

We need to be able to balance scoring goals with strong defensive play. The best way to do that is to get the PP going. It would allow us to trap at ES which means we wouldn't have to open things up too much at ES to score.

But our PP has been has been brutal other than the 1st period of game 2.

Same. Look Philly is a better offensive team, and there's no shame in admitting that. The Sabres have proven they can completely shut them down. Stay with that. They can be offensive next round if they make it.

poor PP is partly to blame on a supreme fear of giving up a shorty.

That certainly plays a part in it. But they've also made some incredible dumb decisions with the puck. For example, they had at least 4 or 5 good looks in the slot and around the net on the 5min PP in game 4. But instead of shooting they passed the puck. Thats got nothing to do with worrying about a shorty.

I've liked this team's mettle over the last three months. They've been playing do-or-die games for what seems like months. I have a good feeling that they'll pull it out tonight. Just win. BUFFALO GO!!

The internets tell me that in series that are tied 2-2, the winner of Game 5 goes on to win the series over 80% of the time...no pressure

The Destroyer of Worlds
Killer of Flyers

It's time to drop the bomb and end this thing. "Little Boy" tonight in Philly, "Fat Man" on Sunday in Buffalo.

SOMEBODY HAS TO DO SOME VIDEO EDITING HERE. PLEASE!
A richards face over the girl, perhaps?
Laviolette as the Soccer mom.
Lindy Ruff as the angry yelling coach (yelling at Gerbe).

I mean.. they are wearing orange.. it's almost too perfect of a situation.

Meh.

Even if he plays, Pronger will most likely have a limited role. His return doesn't change much for me.

Mike Weber was urging McCormick to come up with a good quote in advance of Game Five. McCormick asked Weber if he meant something Vince Lombardi-like, then said he'd think on it.

The two decided to go with Weber's mantra: "Don't wish for it, work for it."

Let them play Pronger. A Sabres win with him in the lineup will be all the sweeter.

Probably so but the same objective is likely on the Flyers' minds, especially because they are coming home and will get Pronger back.

I have a feeling that the smarter approach is for the Sabres to play a "safe road game" and try to be patient in frustrating the Flyers into making mistakes - something that typically happens when the crowd frenzy and adrenaline is ramped up. If the Sabres come out guns blazing and end up being too aggressive, they'll be killing penalties and giving the Flyers even more ammo.

All the pressure is on Philly as the home team and favored pick in the series to take control early; if the Sabres can hold them off, their frustration level is bound to create turnovers for the Sabres. Then, it's up to them to convert them.

You KNOW Pronger isn't 100%. He wasn't even shooting 2 days ago. That's a panic move by Philly with Carter out, let's hope it comes back to bite them in the ass
