Dean needs to do everything in his power to sign Brad Richards this summer. Looking at our veterans except for Mitchell/Smyth/Williams, they all have been pretty awful.

Positives: This doesn't really hurt at all after Game 3. It was expected. I did not expect the great comeback in the 2nd, but once again, our mentality sucked and we folded in the 3rd.
Wont have the Money for Richards; He will wont Seven mill plus. Drew is due a raise we still have Smyth on the books. Also Penner and maybe Schenn at Three Mill.

Basiclly Penner kind of screws us.

This team needs to stop acquiring former Oilers. That is my thought of the night.

What will it take for someone besides Kings fans to see TM is a joke of a coach? Todd McLellan has to be laughing at how bad he outcoached Murray these last two games on our ice. Pathetic

Sad state of affairs! ...maybe kopi would have made a difference...we'll never know. I just hope dean addresses the scoring and apparently our d too.

I would too. Nothing to lose at this point.

To look at the positives from the game. That 3rd line can be a sick 3rd/4th line if kept together for a couple of seasons. Hopefully to the point where the Kings 3rd line in 3 years time is Clifford-Schenn-Simmonds with Loki on the 2nd

After this series so far, I am now a Westgarth fan. He plays so much harder than most of the forwards. he has seriously impressed me, he hasnt looked lost, he hasn't been exposed defensivly, he has generated offence, he has been a nuisance, he has kept the Sharks tough guys in check
You forgot the . If you're being serious, then I think you check get your eyes checked. Westgarth is a ****ing liability on the ice, he's a nuisance to our team and to our 4th line. Trevor Lewis skates with idiots on his line. Our team is too slow, today's NHL is mostly about speed in the neutral zone and we've got absolutely none. Richardson and Lewis exposed the Sharks because of their speed, they backed their defense off. The rest of our lines couldn't do that because of their lack of speed (Handzus and Penner on the same line) (Williams and Smyth on the same line)

anyone think Bernier will get the start for game 5? It seems like the obvious move to try and shake things up a bit..

Knowing Terry Murray.. he wont do a god damn thing...

...and the only thing that helps me sleep better at night is knowing Schenn and Loktionov will be here next season to replace a couple of the loafs we have that dont do ****. I just hope the much needed skill that they bring wont be stuffed into oblivion with Murray's system: Where all offensive talent comes to die.

JB should get to start the final game. The series is over and it would nice to give him one just to see how he handles it. The worst thing that could happen is we would lose, which is old hat at this point.

I have been a Terry Murray supporter for a long time, but after these last two games he has lost my support. I know it wont happen, but I am hoping for a new coach next year. No timeout last night, for some reason the Kings all of a sudden forget how to play defense, and why the freaking heck didnt he pull Quick on the 5 on 3!? they had nothing to lose!

And I would like to see Bernier get the start on saturday. Shake things up a little, the Kings need it.

I have so much faith in this group of young talent but they are fighting with one arm tied behind their back, somethings gotta change.

Smyth really does turn his game around in the playoffs. Can't say the same about ZUs.

Only way I'd have Smyth back is if he takes a huge, huge, huge paycut. I'm talking 1.5 million/year lol or else #deuces

Richardson was great. Clifford was great. Simmonds was great. Mitchell has played his heart out this series. Quick saved this team in the first and was let down in the last two periods. Brown hasn't done crap since Game 1, but his two line mates are terrible so I can't blame him. Williams and Smyth are playing well, but one is injured and the other is old.

Onto Game 5 in San Jose. Not going to be fun, fun, fun.
Definitely. That's where Nichols earns his keep.

For a player with less than 7 minutes of ice-time he got LA's best D-man off the ice, and drew a 4-minute PP during a crucial part of the game.

I hope the Oilers have some interest in trading for Smyth. That would make this an incredible offseason.

... But wait, this was a must-win game!

You mean there's still more hockey to play? Inconceivable.

If this was a team like San Jose, Vancouver, etc, I'd be very surprised if Matt Greene was brought back. But considering our GM didn't look to get rid of anyone after last year's playoff performance I'd be surprised if he did now.

If I was looking for someone to start with, I think he belongs at the front of the line.

There's still hockey to be played yet. And his head needs to be pulled out of his ass. If he does that we've got one of the biggest problems solved straight away.

Bernier's only chance was after the 6th goal tonight. As long as there is a glimmer of hope in this series, Murray is going to play Quick all the way.

Continuing a line of conversation from the GDT, what were the signs that the Kings were so mentally fragile? Sure they had losing streaks and frequently biffed after scoring, but how do we know that those are not simply the ups and downs of the season? They had some great winning streaks as well. How do we know that their struggles in the regular season were not just the normal range of outcomes for a team that is reasonably talented but offensively challenged, and good enough to win more games than they lose by not an elite team by any stretch?

I'm genuinely amazed by this whole turn of events, really beginning with game 2. I expected the Kings to lose the series, but to do so in their usual fashion--losing 2-1 or 3-2, grinding out a few wins by the same scores or maybe stealing one in overtime. I'm astounded that we've seen such a different team, and I'm really trying to understand what has happened here.
