No nomination means his agent can't use it as a bargaining chip

Luongo over Price is farcical.. but it's not that important since Price wouldn't have beaten Thomas anyways, just would have been nice for him to get some recognition.

How about just winning a PO series first?

His career is young.

Awards:
Meh. Price was tied with Luongo for wins and had more shut-outs, but Luongo's save percentage and GAA was better. Only argument that can be made is the condition of the team the goaltenders play for, but that argument isn't used when deciding who the candidates are.

Come to think of it boys, lets face it, the last 2 games from price werent that amazing.

I'd rather have him focus on hockey than have him distracted for winning the vezina and thinking about it.

Like that he will be put back in his place for a reflection, and hopefully next game we will come out strong in boston (oh boy)

You talking about Thomas or Rinne? Has Lundqvist ever won one?

Funny, none of these goalies are exactly playoff tested aside from Luongo and well, we know the story with him.

Price can use this as some motivation to beat Thomas?

Irony: Less than two hours after the NHL announces a fine of $2500 to Andrew Ference for giving Canadiens fans the middle finger, the league essentially makes the same gesture, by announcing Carey Price is NOT a Vezina trophy finalist.

good point. Although he's calm, collected and probably unphased, I think is might light a fire under his ass and put him into God mode.

I'm more surprised that Lundqvist wasn't nominated. Outside of Thomas/Rinne, I think it should have been Price or Lundqvist. Luongo had good stats, but I feel like Price and Lundqvist played better. Thomas is gonna win either way.

yeah, I'm actually more surprised about Lundqvist then I am about Price.

Like Price, Lundqvist played behind a very weak defense, whereas Rinne played behind arguably the best defensive group in the west & Luongo arguably behind the best team in the league.

of course, it's not about who the most valuable goaltender is to his team, but I think both Price and Lundqvist would definitely have had even more impressive stats than they did had they played for Boston, Nashvile or Vancouver.

How about that deal? I can't say I disagree with you so it makes Lundqvist and Price 2 legit Hart finalists then. So in a way, you end up mentioning 5 goalies that did well but in 2 categories.

Would have been nice to get the nomination for Carey, but I'd rather they win 14 more games and get that other big shiny trophy.

He should have been recognized, but the ultimate goal and trophy is the Cup...individual awards will come for Price and Subban as their careers move forward.

Wow. Sucks.
We had Price rated #2 after Thomas in our rankings

He at least deserved a nomination...

Bruins fan here, I agree...I expected it to be (Thomas, Price, and Luongo) when I saw it I was shocked..Price played crazy good this year.

Yeah, just too many losses for Carey i guess

i thought theyd look at Careys workload and give him points for it but evedently they did not

They seemed to love Thomas and Lalongo's win %, they were both like 35 - 10

and Rinne was playing for the habs of the west, a low scoring team, but put up an amazing .930 and a great GAA, and it just made carey number 4 and making lundquist a NOT TOO distant 5th

just the way it is :/, the 2 blowout losses to boston is what lost it for him i assume
