Max Domi

Here is a sick video of the kid, some of his passing plays are just disgustingly good (1:03) and his hands and finish are really good too. I think a lot of people will enjoy this.

Can't wait till the Knights draft him and convince him to skip college to play for the Hunters.

just because he is the only prospect in 2013 that people talk about because his dad is Tie.

I can't believe you haven't heard of Nathan MacKinnon yet. There's a lot of talks around him, more than there are for Domi as I saw.

However, I think Max Domi will be a nice player. I haven't seen him play or didn't hear of him a lot, but imagine how great he could be if he can bring the thoughness of his father along with some offense. As you said, he's quite young, and he could either bust or pan out. Time will let us see.

Ehhh I dunno, seems like he's one of the best prospects in Canada for this years CHL draft... He could go top 10 in the OHL despite committing to the USHL

He was taken in the 2nd round (20th overall) in the USHL draft yesterday. This was due to him announcing a few weeks ago that he was going the US scholarship route.

This could just be posturing as someone mentioned about controlling where he plays in the OHL.

Here are the best rankings I could find for the upcoming OHL draft.

1. Aaron Ekblad
Sun County Panthers (MHAO)

2. Nicholas Ritchie
Toronto Marlboros (GTHL)

3. Nicholas Baptiste
Ottawa Senators (OEMHL)

4. Max Domi
Don Mills Flyers (GTHL)

5. Darnell Nurse
Don Mills Flyers (GTHL)

6. Steve Santini
New York Apple Core (EJHL)

7. Jordan Maletta
St. Catharines Falcons (OMHA)

8. Jordan Subban
Toronto Marlboros (GTHL)

9. Steven Varga
York Simcoe Express (OMHA)

10. Will Butcher
Madison Capitals U18 (Tier 1)

The concensus always seemed to be Nurse was the better prospect between him and Domi, although Nurse is a Dman.

Never heard the Mcnab connection, wonder if Darnell pukes on the ice alot.

It's his uncle by marriage, there was a hockey news article on him this year in the futures issue.

Is it only me or is hockey becoming more and more about who you know and who you're related to. I played with guys that had similar or even better skillset at that same age and never got near the attention he is getting.

This kind of thing happens alot. Why would you want to play in Owen Sound or some other ****hole when places like Ottawa/London/Windsor/Kingston are an option.

Certain programs, like the Knights have a reputation for greasing the palms of potential recruits. We have a 9000 seat modern arena, the money is there.

No I know I'm just asking the guy that may have insight to what actually IS going on.

Found it funny that McKenzie is vouching for them saying that he actually intends to go to Indiana....first thing I thought was...favour.

He's the son of a former NHLer. I doubt money is any part of his motivation of where he wants to play. He's got opportunities other up and coming players simply can't dream of.

Well with Max it's more of a situation of opportunity. Do you want to play for the Hunters? Doug Gilmour? Do you want to go to school or are you willing to pull a Jarred Tinordi?

Rumours are around that Killer over in Kingston is going to bring Tie into the organization in an attempt to lure Max over.

I think London will draft him, stash him, and attempt to sway him towards joining the team before his eligibility has lapsed. That's where the Hunters have succeeded for all these years of awesomeness.

Makes sense really.

While I agree with this statement wholeheartedly, since I believe his GTHL team did the same thing...I really feel like this kid wants to go somewhere where he's going to be the undisputed star on the team.

The kid certainly doesn't have much to learn from any minor league coaches since he's been getting tutelage on key subjects most of his life from guys like Mark Messier and Mario Lemieux.

Plus, from what I saw, he's a bit of a hot dog. He'll probably tune that out as he gets older, but right now, at his age, for him, it's 100% about being the number 1 guy on the team.

I have no insight into this situation other than to say this type of stuff happens quite a bit. I know in the past the 67's, more importantly Killer, do not play that game. I have heard tho the ownership group here would not be opposed to spending some money in these types of situations. But Brian is in charge of that.
Domi has a reputation for wanting to get paid for anything he does. Getting some money out of a junior organization would be attractive to him.

I've seen him play thrice, he's small, but absolutely unbelievable with the puck.

His vision is amazing, and dangles like Datsyuk (bit of a stretch). So often, such talented players are "puck hogs", but Domi makes passes MOST of the time.

Without a doubt, should be at the top of his draft class.

IMO, Nathan MacKinnon is the best prospect out of that draft class.
