this team is FAR superior to the Buffalo Slobbers
why is it when the team is down, the put massive pressure on them
enough so to tie up the game, and once its tied , they lay back again
this is a TEAM failure
they should have had all the confidence in the world, yet they failed

every other team whose come back from being behind, has won their game yet the flyers can't
holy moly !!
It's always Leighton's fault, it would have nothing to do with Carle who screwed up 4 times on the same play leading to that goal, I didn't notice Syvret earlier in the game if he even played but if he did he must of been horrible considering he sat on the bench the whole game while Carle and O'Donnell stunk it up.

Leino and Versteeg are completely useless, why do they keep getting ice time?

4 crappy goals I blame both of the goalies and the Flyers organization for going with crappy goalies every year. Maybe next year they can bring in Nabakov and add another crappy cheap goalie.

Oh, and:

Flyers try harder on defense because he sucks and that's why he does well!

He gives up a rebound on every shot and that rebound always results in a goal!!

He loses every game he's ever played - except he doesn't, but he would if the Flyers didn't try so much harder when he's in goal!
not getting into it with Leighton fanboys, but this is exactly the type of Leighton game. Can you honestly sit there and say that Buffalo had more than 2 maybe 3 scoring chances after Leighton came in?

Tocchet is an idiot if he wants them to start Boosh again after that pathetic display. Boosh is the one that cost them the game.

I am disappoint. That's all. Hopefully we can get it together for game 6.

There's not a doubt in my mind that Philadelphia has been the better team. We just have to get solid all around play. Especially in goal.

See, this is the usual outcome of a merry-go-round goalie circus. You get dumped in the first round. Not the finals. And it will happen again next year when we have the same 3 ****ing goalies hopping over the boards in the middle of the first period. Because no one has a clue on how to acquire a god damn goalie in this organization. Done, I can't care as much as I have for 33 years. I can't go on with the let downs, and the same outcome over and over and over and over because we haven't had a ****ing goalie since we traded Hextall for Lindros.

It's round 1 and we've used 3 goalies in 5 games. Say that a couple times. A big joke.

yes, but chances are with leighton in net, he wouldn't have let in those piss pot poor goals to begin with
if the team plays better defensively when he's in, then what is the issue
isn't that what this team needs because, its sure not their overpaid salaries that is getting us any production out there

Well he was canned so you have a point.

Did you just hear Leighton though blaming the D for not blocking the shot..ha ha. Hey Leighton you are the goalie! Barkin said did you hear that? Lappy and Tocchet said they hope he didn't say that but he did.....oh man what a soap opera

I wouldn't necessarily say it would be the easiest thing to control. I will give Leighton some benefit that the shot was pretty well placed to generate a rebound. HOWEVER, a more competent should read that play, recognize the guy coming in looking for a rebound, and either:

a) extend the stick along with the pad to deflect the puck to the corner (preferable)
b) change the angle to actually put the puck back in front of your body. If you're going to kick out a rebound, in this case, you want to put it directly in front of yourself, not off to the side where you have few options for a second save.
c) push-slide sideways a bit to make that first save closer to the body...which Leighton lacks the athleticism/agility to do. This save selection means you either give up no rebound, or are at least moving the right way for a second save selection...Leighton gave himself nothing to work with, and that coupled with his lack of athleticism means there's no second save there.
