For all the love for Ennis...there's just too many times out there he looks like Afinogenov, trying to do everything himself. Oddly enough, his two goals weren't off of "OMG individual effort beating 10 flyers!!!" but on a simple "get the puck to the net" and a rebound.

If he can learn when to try and beat defenders, and when to use his teammates and use his speed to chip pucks in and get to them he's gonna be a real special player. He just has to work on getting the Afinogenov elements out of his game and get more of the Briere elements in.
Part of that Max behaviour comes from both of his linemates have been sucking the life out of the building when they're on the ice.

He was better tonight w/ different linemates. It takes a team to win the cup. If Vanek et. al. aren't going (and Vanek has 3 goals for a guy who's not going) then others have to step it up.

Let's see how things shake out on Sunday and who steps up then.

It is going to be tough on who to re sign during the offseason. Sekera, butler, Webs, Grags, and montador.

Do we go young guns? or do we try to get a vet or two with leopold.

Oh, and the versus crew SUCKED SO BAD!!!! I remember during the last minute, after the Flyers cycled the puck around on the PP and then got their shot blocked, someone said "the flyers did really well that last play". I dont know how you can give credit to a team that took 15 seconds to set up one shot, and then it gets blocked. The sabres were playing back as well, making it easier to pass around the perimeter...

Yeah, Engblom gushing about the Flyers puck movement when all the pressure is on the Sabres PK was just horrible. The game is on the line and the Sabres PK keeps the Flyers from getting a good look/shot for the last 30 seconds of the PP but get zero credit.

It's absurd. Whatever.

I've been in Lindy's corner all season, and now is probably a terrible time to mention it, but this (blowing massive leads) just can't keep happening. And I'm no expert, but I think it's on the coach. Someone tell me I'm wrong cause I really do like Lindy.

he tried to kill 45 mins off the clock instead of just playing the game that got them 3-0

Not signing Montador if we can improve through free agency...that's for sure

That's the first 2+ lead they've blown in the playoffs. If it keeps happening, then I'm worried. Right now, the only thing to out come out of the game is that it'll be good for their experience on how not play in these situations.

Another good --

- Lindy changed the lines to start OT. Gerbe-Gaustad-Kaleta looked good, Vanek-Connolly-Stafford looked ok. They had the better chances.

So Hecht or Roy in on Sunday? Or do they lean on Mancari?

I cannot be convinced Ruff coaches his team to play scared. It's due to a lot of young players and not enough leadership. If nothing else this was a great learning experience.

No, it won't. Montador is UFA, the others RFA. Not to mention that Monty has been the worst or second worst d-man in all playoff games so far. Sekera, Butler, Weber and Gragnani are locks to be signed (barring any offer sheets).

I rarely, if ever, go to other team's boards. but the conversation in the Flyers thread about their goaltending makes our "goalie controversy" threads pale in comparison.

so much great reading material....

well our goalie controversy is cut and dry.
