Rangers have #15 and #45 in the 2011 draft. Which team wants to move down and pick up an extra 2nd?

#15 and #45

Sather trades up and drafts Tyler Biggs as Murphy and Couturier fall.

I can easily see him doing that too.

From a Boston perspective I'd do

MDZ + 15th for the 9th and Kelly/Hamill

You are forgetting the Rangers have 2 2nd round picks.

I dont believe the Rangers make this deal. MDZ is a very talented 20yo player and showed in his rookie year that he can score 37pts. He wont be traded in order to draft only 6 spots earlier.

15 + 45 I am guessing moves you up 3-5 spots at most

This looks plausible but could see more added to both sides to push it up higher.

Ranger Boy, how high would you suggest going in a draft regarded as weak, and what would you pay to go that high?

I would think that the Canadiens could take the 45th pick and leave the 1rst round. They are good in later round drafting.

Rangers would probably be interested in this, of course depending on who's available. I really haven't started looking at the draft so I have no idea who the Rangers might be targeting. But if there's someone Gordie absolutely loves, I could see us making this deal.

I would highly consider this, although it could **** us over a few years from now if Del Zotto becomes another Kaberle.

Would probably depend who's on the board at #4 but I would definitely consider this.

I'd think about if NYR/NJ made trades.

Think that you will find may teams wanting to trade out of 6-10 range. IMO this draft isn't really that exciting maybe pass top 5 if not top 3. You won't lose that much value drafting 15th instead of 10th

But don't think 10th + 45th will get you into top 10 anyways. Maybe 2-3 spots up with previous going rates in mind. For example we got extra 3rd for 1 spot down from Buffalo a few years back. We also sent 17th and 28th to the Ducks to move up 5 spots

When the Rangers have had more than one #2 pick, they have traded up. Moved up 5 spots in 2004 for Korpikoski and 4 spots in 2005 for Staal by trading their #1 pick and a #2 pick.

Including #15 and #45 can get them to #10-#11. This is draft is all over the place. There is a little consensus on the other selections after 6-8 picks. Maybe a team in the #8-#10 range feels their guys will be there at #15 and they'll pick up another 2nd instead of reaching for their player at #9 and having all of the experts on HFBOARDS.com ripping their pick. "They could have traded down and still gotten their player". They will save money on the ELC too. Lower the pick means lower money. Fewer performance bonuses.

What does the second #2 pick have to do with the proposal?

Not a bad offer, however, with the possibility of Larsson being there, I doubt Lou moves down. And really, when was the last time Lou and Sather made any deal.
