I didn't make the last one, so I haven't been keeping up with the pictures, and I also have a terrible record in games the Caps can eliminate the other team in....with my only victory in such games coming against the Rangers in 09.

But it's 8 hours to game time and we need a thread, so I will stick to:

Caps lead the series 3-1

Caps

Alexander Ovechkin - Nicklas Backstrom - Jason Chimera
Marco Sturm - Jason Arnott - Alexander Semin
Marcus Johansson - Brooks Laich - Eric Fehr
Matt Hendricks - Boyd Gordon - Matt Bradley

John Carlson - Karl Alzner
Scott Hannan - Jeff Schultz
Mike Green - John Erskine

Neuvirth

Rangers

Ruslan Fedotenko - Brandon Dubinsky - Marian Gaborik
Wojtek Wolski - Artem Anisimov - Derek Stepan
Sean Avery - Brian Boyle - Brandon Prust
Vinny Prospal - Erik Christensen - Chris Drury

Marc Staal - Dan Girardi
Ryan McDonagh - Michael Sauer
Bryan McCabe - Matt Gilroy

Lundqvist (Callahan)

Dear Caps,

Please get up on them big early, and make it a stress-free game for those of us at VC. Thanks guys.

The Caps have been failing to eliminate opponents since long, long before HF was ever conceived. I'm sure it's not your fault.

EDIT: But if there is a game 6, 442 should make the thread.

I'm going to be interested to see if the excessive minutes the top pairing D of the rags has been playing will take it's toll. The caps need to get on the rags early and hope the refs call the game relatively even.....these past two games in terms of PP for the rags has totally reminded me of the jobbing we'd get vs the pens in the past.

The caps need to get in lundy's face because that's the only way they've been scoring...getting him moving side to side is good way to go but it usually leads to over passing.

Will be my first trip to Verizon this season. Saw four Caps road games, but no home games during the regular season. Caps are 3-0-1 in games I've attended. My Bohveckin shirt is 3-0 in the play-offs/its career and will be under my Semin jersey. I think I'm carrying a decent amount of luck with me into VC.

Our cowbells and air horns vs. their balloons. Not even close.

Will be there, decision time go with the Laich, Carlson or Green shirt. Leaning towards Laich.

BTW, WE ARE LOUDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 of the Caps' 3 potential 2nd-round opponents can finish up their series' today or tomorrow, so the Caps can't afford to mess around and take this thing back to NY. They need to finish it today and give themself an equal/greater opportunity to rest and gameplan.

Rest easy Warden, DD is right.

Drank way to much last night and I'm finally coming to. About to head to the game. Know that we won't need a game 6 for this round. Lets go caps, "WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Canucks up 3-1, home in game 5: lose 5-0

Pens up 3-1, home in game 5: losing 5-0

Here's hoping the Caps show up unlike those teams. I bet one of the Lightning/Hawks win a series, if not both. Don't give the Rangers any such hope. At the very least, I hope to see the Caps play with a lot more fire and energy than the Canucks and Pens did. Both teams looked pretty flat considering the stakes.

The take away message from today and yesterday is to figure out what the Penguins and the Canucks are doing and do the exact opposite.
