Lack of a decent powerplay. It's hard to win a game, let alone a series if you have to score every one of your goals at even strength. I think we've only scored once (?) on the man advantage. Other than that, we haven't been playing poorly. We've been getting chances, but the combination of good team defense and good goaltending by Buffalo managed to shut out our offense on two occasions. That can't happen. You have to find a way to put the puck in the net. Then this game, two really soft goals were let in by Boucher, leaving us down 2 goals and eventually 3. It's hard to win you're down 3 goals before the first period is even over. I'd say that the powerplay (or lack thereof) has been the main issue.

The first two games Miller owned us. This last game we lost was just bad all around early on and it lead to us needing to make a huge comeback.

This is the best answer. We could solve a lot of the shortcomings by simply putting that scoring depth we have to work. We may lack some successful elements out there but there's no reason for our pp to be this bad. All the great goalies in the world won't help us if we can't be better than teams when we're playing 5-4 or 5-3.

Why does it have to be someone's fault?

Powerplay. ***** about the OT all you want, but we had a chance in the final minutes of the game to bury a goal on the pp and we couldn't...I had a bad feeling after that.

Officiating has been bad for both sides. I don't think it's a reason we're down right now. If we could just get one ****ing pp goal a game (not saying a lot considering the amount of penalties called) we would be sitting pretty...but..

Definitely Leighton. If he hadn't played those two and a half periods last night, Flyers would have swept easily.

Game 5 was pivotal, and Boosh singlehandedly ****ed us there. I would have said the poor powerplay, but the goalie letting in inexcusable goals in the biggest game of the series is the reason we are trailing.

goaltending is the blame for the game five loss, but if we had any sort of a power play then the series is probably already over.

I'm with you man, but even after that debacle with Boosh we still managed to tie it up very early in the 3rd. If we could have advantage of one of those pp's from the 2nd and 3rd we would have won.
