I know its his first year, but so far he seems to be a playoff kind of guy. Tough, gritty, not afraid of ANYONE or ANYTHING. Hopefully clifford and B-Rich will rub off on the rest of the guys in the years to come
I remember when Clifford was selected with the Kings 2nd rounder, there were about a dozen on here totally pissed for not taking 'so and so' instead. I didn't know anything about him, other than reading the Draft Guide, and that he played on the National Jr Team...but I figured since Futa got Simmonds the year before, the staff knew some things about him and knew what they were doing
DL and company has done an amazing job amassing this talent. It makes you think that there is something to this big and gritty approach they take to developing the base of the team.
The one thing I fear is Clifford's fighting style though. He openly admits and obviously shows that he doesn't defend himself, he leaves himself open to counter punches, and then he goes out and fights heavy weights using that same style... I love Clifford and the fact that he fights, but its an unnecessary risk, and I hope his hockey future isn't affected by it at any point.

I dont know who was the drunk guy siting next to me at the top of row 217 for games 3 and 4 yelling "GIVE IT TO CLIFFORD! GIVE IT TO CLIFFORD!" every time he was on the ice, but now I get what he was saying.
I don't think Lappy was ever feared or considered a good scrapper, Lappy was more of a feisty pest who at best was a 3rd line checker. Clifford has more potential than that while also being one of the best scrappers in the league (once he learns to defend himself). I can see Clifford being a 15-20+ scorer in the NHL while amassing 100+ PIMs.
I remember the Kyle Clifford pick was sort of out of left field with guys like Tomas Tatar, Drew Shore and Jeremy Morin still available. Turned out to be a solid pick though. Another 2nd round gem by Lombardi
Who would have ever thought Clifford would be leading the team in goals through 6 games in the playoffs, this guy is coming up big - we need him and Richardson to keep it going if we are going to get through in 7.
