Corey Perry

It's as obvious as the day is long that the Rangers are in a serious need of a top notch offensive player that can also impose a physical will on oppsing teams.

Not very likely but do you think that Anaheim would deal Perry?

Girardi, Anisimov and a 2nd rounder?

The Rangers would take on some additional salary, (less than a million)

Still would allow them to pursue Richards, however, the following would be let go for cheaper younger options.

Prospal, EC, Avery, Fedotenko, Drury

Guys like Grachev, Hagelin, Zuccs, Thomas and hopefully Kreider would all be on the roster.

The forwards would be Perry, Richards, Gaborik, Dubinsky, Callahan, Stepan, and the kids above along with Prust and Boyle.

I think that we would have a much more talented team and one that could better compete in series like this one.

Thoughts?

No chance Anaheim gives up their MVP for such a paltry offering.

Why in god's name would Anaheim trade Perry, their best all around player coming off a 50 goal season, for our meh pieces. No 1st rounder, even?

It would have to include Staal, one of Callahan/Dubinsky, and a 1st. Ryan is a more realistic target.

**** this team stinks.

I agree, we need some top offensive players. Perrry would be a great addition but you're delusional if 1) you think he's available and 2) hed be had by that pathetic package.

We act like our 40 point scores are 70-80 point scorers. They aren't that good. Stop kidding yourselves.

Oh, and please temper your expectations for MZA and Grachev. Neither of them are good, either...fyi.

Is this a joke thread?

Yes, Anaheim would deal Perry on the heals of his tremendous, break-out, 50 goal season. Of course.

And yeah, the asking price is going to be (below) fair value. Once again, obvious. Teams always trade their star players for fair value.

Girardi, Anisimov and a 2nd for Perry? Psh. Only if Anaheim adds a pick.

I guess I am more impressed with Girardi and what he has done as a defenceman for the Rangers this year and further in these playoffs.

Aisimov is progressing into a solid 2nd line center.

Prior to this year, Perry was barely a 30 goal scorer. 50 may be his anamoly season.

May not be enough and that's fine, but I do not believe it is far off, regardless of what some think, here or on the main page.

I don't believe the Easter Bunny is a myth either, regardless of what some other sensible people have told me.

I have a proposal: if this team wasn't so stupid we would've had Perry, or another good player, in the 2003 draft.

And you can flame me with the "beating a dead horse" posts, but that set this organization back big time.

To get Perry youd probably have to start with 2 of Dubinsky, Callahan, or Staal.

START mind you.

This can't be a real trade proposal.

Why in the world would Anaheim trade the Hart finalist for some of our garbage.

If that trade proposal would go through I would run naked across the entire continental United States.

I see him more as an inconsistent 40ish point guy who's yet to elevate his game to that next level where I'd feel comfortable labeling him a 2nd line center... Good potential, but not a ton of value in a trade until he proves he can take his game to that next level and more importantly, demonstrate some consistency in his play.
