His opponent is Martin Trempe (0-2). Here's his Sherdog record:
http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Martin-Trempe-73138

So, it's not exactly Cain Velasquez or Alastair Overeem he's matched up against.

Personally, I'm going Brashear by flying armbar/triangle or a scissor into heel hook

I'd like to see him fight Jeremy Yablonski in an MMA match.

People have died in amateur MMA shows before. One in North Carolina I think it was like 2 years ago and one in Russia about 7 years ago. The kid in NC had a heart problem though and they didn't med test him before the fight.

I think he had a couple fights in the NHL.

In other news, I think he'll lose by falling backwards and hitting his head.

I mean he is an athlete, he can be trained, but by no means does hockey fighting transfer to MMA success. He can have good hands and motion along with conditioning which will all help but to think he can just drop in and win is foolish

He does have a 2-1 amateur record in boxing.

Along with 389 fights on skates according to dropyourgloves.com.

He's facing a scrub, with a few months training he could win.

Seems like he had really soft hands. True scoring ability.

Also playing in three different teams during two seasons in QMJHL isn't so usual. Nice character?

For anyone who wants to see how Hockey fighters can do in MMA here is Jeremy Yablonski's second fight...His first one was actually shorter.

Former NHL enforcer Donald Brashear won his MMA debut tonight in the first minute of the first round. Impressive.
