To be honest, even though Richards and Carter are gone, our top 9 are filled up by top 9 players.

You guys look like Boston Bruins now, only with nine good forwards instead of six and a slightly worse goaltender. Defense a little overpaid and maybe not on their toes yet. It will be real interresting to see what all these draft picks will result in.

I don't think Schenn makes the team next year having no room in the top 6. I pushed up Simmonds and Voracek, but if people think they'd go higher, I think there is quite a bit of room considering I've got 1.7m in spare forwards.

Ew. Madden as our 3rd line center? 100% rather have Schenn. Alot of people are saying he will play 3rd line C.

This team needs to fill the wholes with guys who can and have won before. Madden is a great option, but I'm sure there could be a better. I just don't want to have Schenn lining up as our checking line centre vs the league's best offensive lines.

Versteeg can play centre right? Maybe move him to centre and Simmonds up to the 3rd line. 4th line Madden-Betts-Miller... or Powe if we can't get Miller.

This is with waiving Shelley, Leighton. Lappy to LTIR. Trading Betts for a late round pick and Carle for a high second rounder hopefully.

The 3rd line isnt going to be a checking line. Its going to be that, shutdown/score some goals line. Simmonds-Schenn-Versteeg is a fine 3rd line. They can all play defense and put up points. It 100% looks like Schenn will make the team. Unless he completely folds during camp, the currently best prospect in the league is going to play for us next season.

Just look at the one I just made, switch it either for Cole or Leino, but honestly, I'm really excited to see what this team can do. I know it's hard to swallow losing both Carter and Richards, but I we just got bigger, more physical and younger.

Yeah? Schenn could still make the team, however I don't know if I want him as the checking line center even with his grit. 4th line could be switched to be honest ... needs more size and toughness.

Agreed. I don't get the Leino-love around here, he can be easily replaced. He's not worth what he's going to get in FA; let him walk.

He's good, but I'm afraid he may have been figured out a bit. I'd like to see them get more size and hitting for that money, without sacrificing skill (Cole, Gagne, Torres, LaRose, etc.)

Bingo, he's been exposed. I also agree with your second point, we do need to get bigger.

Simmonds and Voracek will certainly help that, but while we have money and roster spots, why stop there? A blend of Simmonds, Cole, Voracek, Hartnell, Torres, LaRose, JvR, etc. is a bit more terrifying than the smurfs we threw out there against Boston

I like gagne, laich, leino.... laich adds size and skill, and this is what we need... also what about signing bergenheim for a penalty kill/checking role, he also adds some scoring, and can be put anywhere in the lineup.
