G: I didn't die during the 3rd period + OT. Miller. Special Nieds

B: I almost died during the 3rd period + OT.

U: Richards. Boyes. Philly's goaltending. Giving up 562104300000 shots on goal.

I only have one thing. I'll probably have more to add later once I'm able to "calm down"

Ugly:

Blowing ANOTHER lead with a worse outcome this time

At least it wasn't Briere.

The Good
-Gerbe-Gaustad-Kaleta...Lots of energy, created a lot, unfortunately couldn't finish. Only line that could sustain some sort of puck possession in the first half of the 2nd.
-Ennis-Niedermayer-Stafford...Their best line throughout the game. Stafford shoulda finished the odd-man rush though.
-I still believe!...?

The Bad
-Myers. Good 1st period, after that not so much.
-Leopold. Turnovers, bad coverage, bad positioning, take a pick.
-Gragnani. Best of the worst. Unusually many turnovers in his own zone.
-Butler. Horrible.
-Weber. Horrible.
-Montador. Horrible.
-Boyes continues to be a black hole.
-Boucher chant. What's the point of it?
-Failing on how many odd-man rushes? Of course it comes back to bite them in the ass.
-Hecht and/or Roy having to play their first game after injury in an elimination game, because the rest of the team couldn't get it done.

The Ugly
-**** you Richards.
-Connolly hurt and possibly another concussion.
-Having to listen to those joke of announcers.
-Crowd booing Briere and Pronger, but not dirtbag Richards.
-Squandering another 2+ goal lead. If this team doesn't get by now that they CANNOT sit back after a lead, then they don't deserve to win Tuesday.
-Butler
-Weber
-Montador
-Boyes
-Defensive zone coverage. If I had a nickel for every time a Philly player was open in the slot...

You'd think this team had learned something after that late season collapse at home against Nashville but nope....2 blown leads in last 2 games

Lindy should have the team keep sitting back after they get a lead in the first period, it's a recipe for success.

That one was FAR more inexcusable. And with far less time on the board.

I honestly think this team used up all it's energy/mojo/whatever during the last few months of the season to even get it that we just don't have anything left to play the types of games we were playing during those months.

I think some on here are missing a key point.

We had those leads not by dominating or even carrying the play. We had those leads because of crappy Philly goaltending.

I'm reading that we let up after the first. What are you guys talking about?

Philly dominated that entire period and carried the play. The goaltending at both ends was the only reason we were ahead.

The rest of the game was played the same way with the key difference of better Philly goaltending.

If Philly had good goaltending they would have already won this series. They are the far better team and dominate large stretchs of play because of it.

Plus we've lost key players like Sekera, Hecht, Pommer and now Connolly. It makes the mountain even higher.

Ruff says Connolly is in bad shape and is out.

Anyone who defends that ******* Richards can just go to hell. If the NHL doesn't suspend him they just further prove that they don't give a crap about the safety of its players and that their stance on headshots/illegal hits is just smoke and mirrors BS.

ETA: Ruff confirms that Roy will play Game 7.

This. One million times this.

Granted, we probably still win the two 1-0 games......but frankly without poor Philly goaltending, we get our rears handed to us the last two games.

Even game 2 was closer because Bob was shaky.

Games 2, 5 and 6 should have been blowout wins for the Flyers.

Nah. I think it's the style of game Ruff went with. Perhaps it was to maximize our one glaring advantage, but the gameplan makes it so we give up less quality chances while eating up time and hoping our SOG go through. They have, and they will. Problem is, we stop forechecking with leads and allow them to get zone time, and retarded stuff is bound to go down.

Philly just don't get amazing chances and pressure until we stop forechecking. Every freaking game. The second period is dominated because of it.

G: Vanek, Nieds, Stafford

B: The defense, they were borderline ugly though.

U: Richards, Richards, blowing ANOTHER lead, Richards, a serious problem at the center position, Richards, more awful defensive mistakes (Butler & Monty), Richards, giving up 5 goals yet again, did I mention Richrds?

Blowing another lead, losing at home in OT, losing another player, & going to Philly for game 7 are recipes for disaster. Sorry to say it, but I see us losing bad in the next game.

Without Roy, Hecht, Pominville, and now Connolly - it's amazing we made it to OT.

Miller is lightyears ahead of anyone Philly can put in net, but that can only count for so much.

When those guys turn in ton - they can bring serious, serious pressure.

Good:
- Grags was pretty good early, not as good late.
- Chasing another Flyers goalie
- Stafford was flying around everywhere, shame he couldn't cash in late.
- Myers knocking down #48 repeatedly.

Bad:
- Pronger's a waste of a roster spot, but I guess that's a good for us.
- Connolly's probably done.

Ugly:
- That Boyes pass when he had no goalie to beat. Just a complete panic move, absolutely no awareness what so ever.
- Gaustad looked pretty bad at times.
- Leaving Briere all alone in front of Miller. Again. Unreal.
- That Richards hit. Hitting a guy square in the numbers? Dirty ass play. Should have been a major if not the game.

Really Ugly:
- Does anyone really think the league would suspend Richards for anything short of murder in a game 7 at home? Not a chance. He'd have to take off his skate and cut someone's head off for them to even consider it.

Tough loss. Really, really, tough loss.

They've shown some amazing resiliency this year, so anything can happen on Tuesday, but damn, I really wish that wasn't necessary. Had a chance to shut the door, and we let that pasty little vampire get them right back in to it. ****.

Connolly went into the boards like a limp jellyfish. Richards rode him off the play.
I can understand why you'd want to curse Richards' name but you've got to agree at least to a degree that Connolly didnt do much to protect himself.
Its not like this is the first time Connolly hasnt protected himself in the corners either.

It'll be interesting to see if the league actually does anything about the Richards' hit on Connolly for a Game 7. It hurts to see him pick up primary assists on the fourth and fifth Flyer goals after running someone's head into the glass and only getting two for it.
